N. B. The house lot, and house built by him, was <strong>in</strong> Front St., now<br />

Nos. 30-32 and 34 near <strong>the</strong> Little or Park River. The house was taken down<br />

<strong>in</strong> or about 1835.<br />

(6) NEHEMIAH OLMSTED, bap. at Fairsted, Nov. 10, 1618. Came<br />

to <strong>America</strong> with his fa<strong>the</strong>r, and settled <strong>in</strong> Fairfield, Conn., <strong>in</strong> 1649. He<br />

married Elizabeth Burr, dau. <strong>of</strong> Jehu Burr, Sr. He was a sergeant <strong>in</strong> 1657.<br />

Died before Oct. 2, 1657. His widow was appo<strong>in</strong>ted adm<strong>in</strong>istratrix Aug., 1658.<br />

<strong>the</strong>re is bequea<strong>the</strong>d to Nicholas Olmstead and some fourteen o<strong>the</strong>r Englishmen " to be equally<br />

divided amongst <strong>the</strong>m <strong>in</strong>to so many parts as <strong>the</strong>y are persons " " all that traoke <strong>of</strong> land ly<strong>in</strong>g<br />

from <strong>the</strong> mounta<strong>in</strong>s, <strong>in</strong> sight <strong>of</strong> Hartford, northward, to a pond called Shemipipie East to<br />
