became <strong>the</strong> "First National Bank <strong>of</strong> Yonkers." He was made President,<br />

and was actively engaged <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> duties <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice until <strong>the</strong> day <strong>of</strong> his<br />

death, which occurred May 30, 1890.<br />

He was one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> orig<strong>in</strong>al members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> First Presbyterian Church,<br />

hold<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> position <strong>of</strong> Treasurer for over thirty years. Interested <strong>in</strong> public<br />

affairs, stand<strong>in</strong>g for <strong>the</strong> right always, he was a man esteemed and respected<br />

by all who knew him.<br />

REV. AARON FRANKLIN OLMSTED, D. D.<br />

Was born at E. Hartford, Conn., and died at Rh<strong>in</strong>ebeck, N. Y. He grad.<br />

Union College, Schenectady, N. Y. Was a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kappa Alpha fraternity.<br />

Received degree <strong>of</strong> Doctor <strong>of</strong> Div<strong>in</strong>ity from Union College. Orda<strong>in</strong>ed<br />

1844 <strong>in</strong> Episcopal M<strong>in</strong>istry <strong>in</strong> which he served for fifty-one years, a portion<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> time <strong>in</strong> North and South Carol<strong>in</strong>a and <strong>the</strong> last twenty-eight years<br />

<strong>in</strong> Rh<strong>in</strong>ebeck, Dutchess County, N. Y., as Rector <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> " Church <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Messiah."<br />

FRANK LINCOLN OLMSTED<br />

Mr. <strong>Olmsted</strong> was born at Long Branch, N. J., and is a graduate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Phillips-Exeter Academy, 1885; Harvard, 1890. Has been engaged <strong>in</strong> educational<br />

and literary work; Editor <strong>of</strong> Knickerbocker Literature Series (Putnam)<br />

for which he rewrote and condensed Roosevelt's "W<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> West";<br />

Brook's " L<strong>in</strong>coln," and Irv<strong>in</strong>g's " Astoria" and " Capta<strong>in</strong> Bonneville."<br />

Mr. <strong>Olmsted</strong> spent <strong>the</strong> summer <strong>of</strong> 1903 <strong>in</strong> a study <strong>of</strong> certa<strong>in</strong> English schools;<br />

<strong>in</strong> 1910 he made a general tour from Liverpool to Naples, and expects <strong>the</strong><br />

com<strong>in</strong>g summer (1912) to visit Paris, Brittany, and Wales, and to spend a<br />

few days <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> neighborhood <strong>of</strong> <strong>Olmsted</strong> Hall <strong>in</strong> Essex. S<strong>in</strong>ce 1904 he has<br />

been carry<strong>in</strong>g on an <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g experiment <strong>in</strong> education, viz. : <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>tensive<br />

tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> a few boys whom he has taken <strong>in</strong>to his country home at P<strong>in</strong>e<br />

RUEY E. FORD, M. D.<br />

Dr. Ford spent her girlhood days among <strong>the</strong> hills and valleys <strong>of</strong> Delaware'<br />

county, N. Y. She attended <strong>the</strong> Physicians and Surgeons College <strong>in</strong> St. Louis<br />

and graduated from that <strong>in</strong>stitution <strong>in</strong> 1893. Dr. Ford is local exam<strong>in</strong>er for<br />

<strong>the</strong> L. O. T. M. M., R. N. A. and I. 0. O. F. and a registered Michigan State<br />

Pharmacist.<br />

GEORGE HENRY OLMSTED<br />

Mr. <strong>Olmsted</strong> is at <strong>the</strong> head <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> largest <strong>in</strong>surance agencies <strong>in</strong><br />

Ohio and is one <strong>of</strong> Cleveland's most prom<strong>in</strong>ent and progressive citizens; he is a<br />

native <strong>of</strong> LaGrange, Ohio, where he was bom September 21, 1843. His fa<strong>the</strong>r,<br />

Jonathan <strong>Olmsted</strong>, was a farmer and a native <strong>of</strong> Lora<strong>in</strong> County, Ohio. His<br />

ancestors were <strong>of</strong> an old Connecticut <strong>family</strong>, settled <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> _" Nutmeg State"<br />

<strong>in</strong> 1632 and were all prom<strong>in</strong>ent <strong>in</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess and civic affairs <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir time.<br />

His mo<strong>the</strong>r was also <strong>of</strong> an old New England <strong>family</strong> for generations back. He
