(4081) DARIUS OLMSTED, Norwalk, Conn. b. June 22, 1754; d. Feb.<br />

22, 1832; m. Sept. 10, 1775, Es<strong>the</strong>r Gregory (No. 4332); b. July 6, 1758; d.<br />

Mar. 15, 1829; dau. <strong>of</strong> Stephen and Mary Gregory. She was an Episcopalian<br />

and a member <strong>of</strong> St. Paul's Church. Both lie buried <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> churchyard.<br />

Darius <strong>Olmsted</strong> was a county blacksmith and a good mechanic. His blacksmith<br />

shop was still stand<strong>in</strong>g until a few years ago, and also his old barn.<br />

He was a hot Tory. Nearly six feet <strong>in</strong> height, with black hair and eyes,<br />

smooth face and <strong>of</strong> a dark complexion.<br />

I. John Gregory, Sr. His will was executed Aug. 15, 1689. Mrs. Sarah<br />

Gregory appeared as widow Oct. 9, 1689; and died that same month.<br />

Children: 1, John, Jr. 2, Joachim. 3, Judah, removed to Danbury.<br />

4, Joseph; bap. July 26, 1646. 5, Thomas; bap. Mar. 19, 1648; m. Elizabeth<br />

Pardee. After Thomas Gregory's decease, she married, 2d, Lieut. John<br />

<strong>Olmsted</strong>, son <strong>of</strong> Richard <strong>the</strong> settler. 6, Phoebe; married John Benedict.<br />

7, Sarah; born Dec. 3, 1632; m. James Benedict.<br />

Jamaica, L. I. public action." John and Mary Gregory lived <strong>in</strong><br />

Cranberry Pla<strong>in</strong>, Norwalk.<br />
