lY. Robert Carr, brother of the foregoing Thomas Carr,<br />

settled in Nansemond county, Va., where he died in 1773. He<br />

married Mary Williams in 1785. His will is a unique document,<br />

and its minute details are amusing to the present generation.<br />

He speaks of being "the author of eight children and<br />

the possessor of much plvmder." His children were,<br />

IV. IjRADbury Karr came from Scotland with several<br />

brothers and settled in Chester, N. H., about 1724. His name<br />

is on an inventory of Chester in 1741, as Karr, l)ut in all other<br />

as Carr. No record of his birth or date of<br />

places it appears<br />

is found. His wife's name was Anna. Their children<br />

marriage<br />

IV. John Karr is the name of anotlier of tlie earh' settlers<br />

of New Hampshire, who probably settled near Boscawe'^i. He<br />

was born in Scotland and might have been a brother of Brad-<br />

bur}^ Carr. He married Margaret Kile, in New Hampshire,<br />

Dec. 6, 1743. She died April 19, 1785. This family also took on<br />

the Carr s]:)elling of the family name. Their children were,<br />
