NOTES AND COKRECTIONS.<br />

'I'he Carr coat of arms which forms the frontispiece of tliis<br />

book is a cojn- of the orioinal document which was brouj^ht<br />

to this country b3^ George Carr in 1620, who came over on the<br />

Mayflower. It descended in his faniil}^ line to his son Janies^,<br />

John-', JaniesS DanieF', Thomas^, and is now the property of his<br />

youngest daughter, Mrs. Adelaide Humphre}^ of Chicago, Ills.<br />

It bears the partly obliterated signature of one of the Carrs of<br />

the house of Somerset. Its exact counterpart was brought<br />

over by William Carr, a brother of George Carr, in 1621, and<br />

has coine down to the present time in his family line. It is<br />

now in the possession of Klbridge Gerry Carr, of Mexico, Me.<br />

CORRECTIONS.<br />

Richard Carr (51) born in Salisbury, Mass., Jan. 1693-4, married<br />

Lydia Coffin, daughter of Stej^hen Coflin, of Newbury,<br />

Mass. Their intentions of marriage w^ere recorded Oct. 29,<br />

1715, and the marriage was consumated Nov. 18, 1715. She<br />

was born in Newbury, Jul}' 21, 1691.<br />

No, 185. James Carr born Oct. 20, 1727.<br />

No. 2823 Henry Burwell instead of Burnell.<br />

Page 264 Stephen Cooper was drowned in the spring of<br />

1828 instead of 1827.
