IX. Kev. Alfred Gilbert (3795) born in Cummington, Mass.,
May 2, 1814, married Julia Briggs, and second wife, Mary
Bliss. He was a graduate of L^nion college, and was an ordained
Congregational minister; but spent the most of his
life in teaching a boys' school, in Lanesborough, Mass. He
had two sons by his first wife,
