VIII. Joseph Carr (3284) born in Utica, N. Y., Ajjril 10, 1833,
married Catherine Maria Pollard, June 20, 1853. vShe was a
daughter of Kichard I*ollard, who came to Utica from England
in 1832. She died March 25, 1881. He next married Mary
Dunlap vShields, April 15, 1885. She was born in Scotland, May
28,1852. He served in the Union army during the latter part
of the rebellion. His children, all by his first wife, are,
