1813, married vSanuiel Baker, and went to Lowell, Mass. He<br />

tlied in 1835. Their children are.<br />

These two brothers were in the war of the rebellion. Sam-<br />

uel was a colonel and George a captain. They both live in<br />

l^eoria. Ills., and their mother lives with them.<br />

VIIL Jkk'EMIAIi S. Carr (3237) ])orn in Antrim, N. H., in 1820,<br />

married Martha \V. Merrill, of Brownfield, Me., in 1847. He died<br />

in Elba, Ills., in 1875.<br />

VUI. Jonx Carr (3240) liorn in Deering, N. H., in 1826, mar-<br />

ried 1st, Frances A. Wood, of Merrimack, N. H., and 2nd, Cj^n-<br />

thia Jones, of Peacham, Vt. He was drowned in lake Erie,<br />

Oct. 26, 1856.<br />

VIIL Jonx Carr (3241) born in x\ntrim, N. H., Aug. 19, 1829.<br />

He went to Boston, Mass., when 18 years of age. He has<br />

never sought nor held pul)lic office, though often solicited to<br />

do so \)y his fellow citizens. His principal occupation has<br />

been in connection with the First National Bank, of Boston,<br />

having<br />

l)een with it as a state and national bank since its<br />

foundation in 1859. F'rom 18(54 to 1881, he was cashier, and<br />

since 1881, as president, tie is also president of the Eliot<br />

Five Cent Savings Bank of Koxbur3^, Mass., where he resides.<br />

He is treasurer of several other institutions, and is away up<br />

in Masonr3^ Socially and religiousl}' he is held in high es-<br />

teem, and as a business man without reproach.<br />
