March 19, 1824, married Sally Watson Carr, (2943) Feb. 4, 1847.
She was lx)rn Sept. 12, 1826, and died in 1850, at "Red Hill,"
Albemarle Co. He lived in St. Louis, Mo., quite recently,
but died in his old home in Virginia in 1893. The3' had,
4987 1. George \V. Carr, b. April 5. 1848. He lives in Corsicanna,
Texas.
VHl. Patsy Carr (daughter of Daniel Ferrill Carr, of Garland
Carr, 888) married George \V. Clive and settled in
cinnati, Ohio. After^vards they moved to Texas Avhere

both died. They had a family of several children.
VIII. Hox. James 0\ kktox Broadhkad (2950) born in Albemarle
Co., Va., May 29, 1819. He settled in St. Louis, Mo.,
married and raised a family of children. He is a lawyer of
marked al)ility, and has been prominent in politics in Missouri,
for a number of years. He has been a member of congress,
and was delegate to the Missouri constitutional conventions
of 1816, 1861 and 1875. He has had much experience in diplomatic
matters through his connection Avith the French
spoilation claims, and is now U. S. minister to Switzerland.

VIII. Mary Ann Broadhhad (daughter of 1647) born in Albemarle
Co., Va., Julj^ 28, 1821, married John H. Newby. She
died in St. Louis, Mo., July
3, 1890. Their children are.

VIII. Prof. Garland Carr Broadhkad (2951) born in Albemarle
Co., Va., Oct. 30, 1829, married Marion Wallace
Wright in Cass Co., Mo., Dec. 20, 1864. She was born in Cass
Co., April 9, 1843, and died at Pleasant Hill, Mo., Nov. 24, 1783.
He next married Victoria Regina Ro^^al, in Columbia, Mo.,
June 18, 1890. She was born in Prince Edward Co., Va. He is
professor of geology and mineralogy in the State University
of Missouri, at Columbia. He was ;i former state geologist.
