\'III. John M. Carr (2389) born in New Bedford, Mass., Jan.
2, 182.1, married Harriet E. Cozzen, Oct. 4, 1844. During the
war he served in the U. S. navy as master of arms, and was
discharged at Annapolis, Aug. 1800. He died in Newport,
R. I., of la grippe, April 18, 1893. Their children are,

1843. They moved to Georgeto\vn, S. C, where she died Aug.
24, 1807. He next married Emma M. Spears, in Georgetow^n,
Oct. 23, 1809. He held the office of county commissioner from
1807 to 1875. He died in Newport, Sept. 24, 1883. His children
