VIII. Kev. vSpexcer Carr (2(117) bcnn in Silver Lake town-
ship. Pa., March 19, 1811. By his own-industry he secured a
liberal education, and spent his whole life from early manlrolod
in the Baptist jninisiry. He was pastor of different churches
in Ohio, Illinois, Wiscortsin and Kansas. He married Sarali
Higgins, in RaL-ine, Wis.. vSept. 8. 1841. She was l)orn in Sherburne,
N. Y., Juh' 11, 1822, and now resides in National Cit}^
Cal. He died in I>rkersville, Kansas. July 14. 1880. Their

He has been a member of ihe Baptist cbxirch for the jiast sixty
years, and has ^iven important service to both church nnd
state. They reside at Lima Kidge, Wis. Their children are,
