ried James Minor, son of John and Sarah (Carr) Minor, (508)<br />

June 30, 1773. Mr. Minor built the "Gate House," on the North<br />

Forks of the Rivanna river in Albermarle county al:)out 1776.<br />

VI. William Carr (891) born in Virgnia, about 1730, nuir-<br />

VI. Thomas Carr (892) born in Virginia, probably Albermarle<br />

county. May 15, 1742, married Ann Sanders, Jan. 27, 1770.<br />

She was born Feb. 6, 1750, and died Sept. 10, 1826. He died in<br />

Tennessee, Ma>^ 5, 1821. Their children were,<br />

YI. William Carr (S93) ])orii in X'irginia, about 1745. He<br />

located in Powell's Valley, Ky., where he acquired a large tract<br />

of land, but after occupjing it a few years he was murdered.<br />

It is supposed this was done to get possession of his land. He<br />

had no fanlil3^<br />

VI. McCager Carr horn in Virginia about 1748, and settled<br />

in Kentuck}'. It is supposed he had a family.<br />

VI. Gideon Carr, (8D5) l)orn in \"irginia in 1752. He lived<br />

in Albermarle county, nine miles west of Charlottsville, and<br />

carried on a large plantation with 17 negroes, raising toI)acco<br />

for the Richmond market. He emigrated to Tennessee, and<br />

died in Dickson county in 1817, in the 96th 3'ear of b.is age. His<br />

children were,
