<strong>Clark</strong>. Their children were : •<br />

i. Rebecca, b. Oct. 4, 1704 ; baptized Oct. 8, 1704 ; m.<br />

March 4, 1730-1 Phineas Camp <strong>of</strong> Milford, known as<br />

Sergeant Phineas, who died probably in 1761. Administration<br />

was granted to his widow Rebecca, March<br />

2, 1761.<br />

ii. Martha, b. Jan. 15, 1705-6 ; baptized Jan, 20, 1705-6 ;<br />

m. before Feb. 11,1727-8 Jonathan Treat, born March<br />

17, 1701, and died May 31, 1779, aged 78, son <strong>of</strong><br />

Robert and Abigail (Camp) Treat. Martha died Jan.<br />

12, 1775, aged 46. The following extract is from<br />

<strong>Farmington</strong> Town Records, iv, 535.<br />

" Whereas we<br />

Jonathan Treat and his wife Martha formerly Martha<br />

<strong>Clark</strong> and Rebeckah <strong>Clark</strong> all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> town <strong>of</strong> Milford in<br />

<strong>the</strong> county <strong>of</strong> New Haven in <strong>the</strong> colony <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conn</strong>ecti-<br />

cut in New England have right unto two acres <strong>of</strong> land<br />

contained in a grant <strong>of</strong> land made by <strong>the</strong> town <strong>of</strong> Farm-<br />

ington in <strong>the</strong>ir meeting January 10th 1695-6 unto our<br />

uncle Sergt. <strong>John</strong> <strong>Clark</strong>," March 12, 1728-9.<br />

iii. Ann, b. Oct. 9, 1707 ; baptized Oct. 12, 1707 ; d. May<br />

29, 1708.<br />

iv. Thomas, b. March 22, 1708-9; baptized March 27,<br />

1709. Was living as late as May 7, 1733, when his<br />

bro<strong>the</strong>r Jared chose him as guardian.<br />

V. Abigail, baptized June 10, 1711. Was not named in<br />

her fa<strong>the</strong>r's will Feb. 11, 1727-8, and <strong>the</strong>refore prob-<br />

ably died young.<br />

25, 1731, <strong>John</strong> Buckingham, born Aug. 14, 1707, son<br />
