Rotary Club - Levin
Rotary Classification: Pharmacy Manager
Deb joined Rotary in 2003 after moving from Napier and is now a member of the Levin Club.
Born in Napier and schooled at Sacred Heart, Deb then moved to PN to train in Nursing. This led to a
1984. Deb continued her nursing career at Queen Mary Hospital. During this time Neville trained as a
pharmacist. After 4 years at University Neville‘s new pharmacy career took Deb back to Napier. Here
she forged her own pharmacy role, developing health promotion and public forum roles for Peter
Dunkereley Pharmacy.
In 2003 they bought their own Pharmacy in Foxton. Within the first week in town Deb had joined
Rotary. From there it was Club Director, President, District Chair of Healthy Heroes Committee, Club
Facilitator, AG, introduction of RYDA to the Horowhenua Cluster, hosting of a RIYE student, a trip to
India with Polio Plus in January 2011
Milt Matthews Governor Elect Hospitality
A program reflecting the Fourth Object of Rotary:
“The Advancement of International Understanding, Good Will, and Peace through a
world of fellowship of business and professional people united in the ideal of service”
The Program
Pete Schwarz,
Past Chair
Chuck Chapin
Brighton
For the past 43 years Brighton Rotary Club and District 7120 have home hosted over 5030 Governors Elect
and their spouses from 40 countries worldwide. The idea for the program was conceived in 1969 by PDG Milt
Matthews, and has been copied by many other Districts throughout the United States.
Each Governor Elect guest is assigned two Rotary hosts. Their first host meets them at the airport on arrival
and takes them to their home. In the middle of the stay, everyone meets at Brighton Rotary Club’s Exchange
Dinner. All the hosts and guests have the opportunity to get acquainted and share Rotary experiences. When
the meeting is over the guests leave with their second host for the balance of their stay.
