Functional Relationship With: Global Inventory Manager<br />

Transport, Packaging and Logistics Manager<br />

Site Managers, Apata & Pyes Pa Sites<br />

Grower Services Team<br />

Technical Services Manager<br />

Coolstore Manager<br />

Key accountabilities:<br />

The Harvest Co-ordinator is an administrative role to facilitate the following:<br />

Harvest planning<br />

• Pre-harvest organisation with contractors re: documentation requirements, daily coordination<br />

with picking contractors re: bin requirements, fruit volumes and transport<br />

requirements.<br />

• Ensure that all pre harvest requirements are in place to prior to the harvest of product<br />

(spray dairies, contracts, registrations etc…)<br />

• Ensure all bin cards are available and correct prior to harvest of fruit.<br />

• Be conversant with all protocols for Gold fruit.<br />

• Liaise with Grower Services to ensure orchard mapping is up to date for harvest<br />

• Ensure AgFirst registration of maturity areas<br />

Harvest Budget<br />

• Manage the harvest budget.<br />

Harvest delivery<br />

• Involvement in developing pre-season pick / pack plan<br />

• Manage daily harvest meetings to ensure harvest milestones are achieved.<br />

• Draw up harvest plans daily and weekly by region and category, to create labour transport<br />

and machinery efficiencies.<br />

• Maintain effective communication between Contractors, Transporters, Site Managers,<br />

Global Inventory Manager, Coolstore Manager and Grower Services.<br />

• Complete understanding of and responsibility for documentation and audit trail procedures.<br />

• Daily reports to management including but not confined to:<br />

o Maturity Testing<br />

o Canopy Stock-take<br />

o Curing<br />

o Picking capacity<br />

o Packing Capacity<br />

• Organise and co-ordinate bin requirements, fruit flow numbers and transport.<br />

• Ensure accurate daily recording and retention of submit dockets, and relay to Management<br />

for packing schedules.


• Daily contact with Transport, Packaging & Logistics Manager to ensure empty bin flow back<br />

to picking gangs is maintained.<br />

• With the Transport, Packaging & Logistics Manager create inventory of all field bins by size<br />

and category pre-season.<br />

• Ensure discrepancies in bin tallies are investigated and amended as soon as possible.<br />

Daily checks with Packhouse Managers for bins packed against submit documentation.<br />

• Liaise with Transport, Packaging & Logistics Manager to maintain an orderly flow of<br />

vehicles for ease of access loading, unloading and minimising congestion.<br />

• Maintain contact with Global Inventory Manager re: fruit flow and volumes during Bin Store<br />

and C.A. harvest.<br />

• Ensure flow of product is meeting projected harvest targets.<br />

• Be proficient with gaining information readily from The Canopy website.<br />

• Manage the flow of fruit to optimise efficiencies where supply caps and Taste Bands are<br />

involved.<br />

• Be conversant with current Entity rules.<br />

• Liaise with Technical Services Manager and Global Inventory Manager to ensure you are<br />

familiar with the profile management from field (i.e. Size profile, quality, volume, taste etc).<br />

• Select appropriate weather resources and update daily harvest meetings to support<br />

decision making.<br />

• Provide data and update daily harvest meeting with fruit packed versus fruit to be packed.
