Regional Vice President Awards Winners
Honored
Regional Vice President, John Shaler, presented the following
Regional Vice President Medal Awards during the
Special Events Meeting held on 7 June 2011 at the Crowne
Plaza Hotel.
Steve Howell: Is awarded
the Regional Vice
President Medal for exceptional
service and
significant contributions.
Steve’s contribution to
the Pikes Peak Post and
Frontier Post during
2009-2011 is exemplified
by the continued
increase in Individual Membership. His achievements to
promote the partnership of industry and public sector are
making our Society significantly better today.
CAPT Bill Grip, PE, CEC,
USN: Is awarded the
Regional Vice President
Medal for outstanding
SAME leadership and
accomplishment during
2010-2011.
CAPT Grip displayed
a tireless dedication
and commitment to
the Pikes Peak Post
throughout the year
in key initiatives. He
enabled Board Members to strive further in supporting
SAME’s Strategic Plan. Under CAPT Grip’s leadership, the
Post received all streamer awards and was recognized as a
Distinguished Post.
Major Kevin Lovell: Is awarded the Regional Vice President
Medal for outstanding SAME leadership and accomplishment
during 2010-2011.

and commitment
to increasing
military awareness of
the Post was exemplified
by increased participation
by local Army
representatives at
several Post Membership
meetings. Under
MAJ Lovell’s high level
of commitment, endless hours in preparing the Streamer
Nominations, and leadership, the Post was recognized as a
2011 Distinguished Post Recognition.
SAME Honors Ceremony Honors Scott
Prosuch and Josh Aldred
The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) annually
recognizes individuals, organizations, companies and
public agencies for their contributions to SAME and the
military engineering profession. These include soldiers,
sailors, airman and Marines from the active, guard, and
civilian reserve forces; coast guardsmen from the Department
of Homeland Security; Public Health Service officers
from the department of Health and Human Services; civil
service workers from DOD and other federal agencies; and
contractors working in the A/E/C, environmental and supporting
industries.
Their remarkable performance is unsurpassed in defending
the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans, in rebuilding
U.S. cities and towns ravaged by natural disasters, and
in reconstructing war-torn nations far from our shores.
Our military, civilian, and contractor teams have dedicated
themselves to the mission, never wavering in their collective
resolve to achieve a job well done.
There are many SAME members who have performed well
and achieved outstanding success. Those individuals, organizations,
companies and public agencies recognized here
today are the “best of the best.” We congratulate them on
their achievements and thank them for their efforts.
