ATTRACTIONS 8 CLIMb T THE DUNES he Silver Lake Sand dunes are a natural phenomenon nestled between Silver Lake and Lake Michigan. Sand, sun, and fun attract more than a million visitors each year. The dunes are divided into three sections. The northern area is reserved for off-road vehicles for testing your sand driving skills. Whether you rent or take your own vehicle, you will want to experience this adventure. The center region of the dunes is reserved for hiking, walking, or simply enjoying the beaches of Lake Michigan and Silver Lake. The southern area is home to Mac Woods Dune Rides. Mac Woods has operated for more than 80 years, allowing visitors to enjoy a 40 minute, 7 mile tour of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes.
