Hart-Montague Rail Trail
he Hart-Montague Rail Trail was Michigan’s first linear state
Tpark. With its starting point in downtown Hart, the trail follows
the former C&O railroad right-of-way, and heads 22 miles
south to Montague. The trail is ideal for bicycling, in-line skating,
and jogging or walking. It is wheelchair accessible. Trail users
will find many rest stops along the way,
including some with tasty
treats and great conversation.
The trail is open year
round, allowing snowmobilers
and cross-country
skiers to enjoy it too!
Be sure to check
out the several
informational panels
along the trail detailing
interesting historical
landmarks around
the area.
