We will celebrate Friday the 13th with a
visit from a magician in the Kid Zone. Your

Save the Date: Thursday, November 12th
Join us for Sweetwater’s 1st Annual “Scavenger Hunt”. It’s going to be the event of
the year sponsored by the Good Times Club!
We have added several clubs this year, all of which are growing at a rapid rate. The new
beginner bridge club was a huge hit… with 30 people attending most sessions. We
have now decided to begin an intermediate bridge group so all who learned this pass
session can keep the fun going. We will also start a new Beginner Bridge group for
those who couldn't make the last event! So if you are interested in either bridge group,
please email me at lturnbull@sweetwatercc.com and let me know which group you
would like me to sign you up for! I also want to thank all of the “Sweetwater Fit”
members! This group is dedicated to getting or staying healthy while reaching and
maintaining their target weight! If you would like to join us for our Monday and Thursday
work-outs and information sessions, please email me as well!

Chairman's Corner
We have now come to the end of the
year and after 4 years on the Board
of Governors and the final two as
your chairman, I want to take a
moment to publicly thank you the
membership for your support and
to my fellow board members for
allowing me to serve
as chairman over the past two years.
I also want to thank all of the Staff at
Sweetwater Country Club for all that they do to
make every member and their guest’s time here
at the club an enjoyable one. We at Sweetwater
are very lucky to have staff, such as Jabib in the
men’s locker room, who’s always attentive to
member’s needs, LaToya in member relations,
who cheerfully answers all of our questions,
Gene and Louis, and the valet staff /car wash
crew who are the envy of every other club in the
area and the bar staff in the 4400 Club and men’s
card room who know exactly how to mix your
drinks & mine. It is this staff that makes our club
the best place to come and relax and socialize.
As I leave the Board of Governors, I know that
those that remain on the board and those that
have been newly elected will continue to guide
club management for continued improvements in
our club. We all will look forward to finally seeing
the locker room renovations begin in Mid
January.

DUAL HONORS FOR SWCC'S LPGA TEACHER!
Deb Vangellow, LPGA Director of Instruction, has had a
great couple of months! First, she was elected the
2010 National Vice President of The LPGA Teaching
and Club Professionals. A few weeks later, she found
out that she was selected as the 2009 LPGA Teacher of
The Year for the Central Section of the USA!

Thank you for your continued support and friendship at
Sweetwater CC. I so appreciate the opportunity to work
with all of you on your golf game, improving your skills

we all love. From the youngest junior golfer who never
ceases to amaze me to the eldest senior golfer who
continues to inspire me (and everyone in between!), I
feel fortunate to do what I do every day here at SWCC.
It has been a wonderful 13 years!
