Stolen car totaled in Elmira-area collision

10:22 AM | A 15-speed mountain
bike was found by a
township worker in Gibson
Park in Elmira. It may be
claimed by its rightful owner
at Division 3A.
1:51 PM | A license plate bearing
the marker 3141 HY was
reported missing.
7:43 PM | A routine police
check resulted in the arrest
of a 30-year-old man. Police
determined that the suspect
vehicle had been reported
stolen. Consequently, the individual
was charged with
a number of charges including:
‘possession of stolen
property under $5,000,’ ‘using
unauthorized plates,’
‘driving without insurance,’
‘driving without a license,’
and ‘removing plates without
proper authorization.’ The
driver must appear in court
in December.

12:45 AM | Police stopped a
driver on Arthur Street South
for speeding. Due to excessive
speeds, the driver was
charged with stunt driving
and had their license suspended.
1:45 AM | An Elmira man was
charged with speeding and issued
a 12-hour driver’s license
suspension. The vehicle was
towed from the roadway, Arthur
Street South.
9:38 AM | A trailer plate bearing
the marker D5417T was
reported lost somewhere in
the Grand Bend area.
11:56 AM Another trailer plate
was reported as lost. This
time however, it was located
and returned a few hours
later.
5:43 PM | Police received a
report of a stolen motorcycle.

WRECKED police investigate the scene after the driver of car
reported stolen crashed near Elmira oct. 27. the driver fled on
foot.
A late-model Honda Civic reported stolen
Monday was involved in a single-vehicle
collision that brought police to the area of
Middlebrook Road in Elmira later that day.
Police were told by a witness that an occupant
of the vehicle was seen fleeing the
scene on foot and is still at large. The car had
been travelling northbound on Middlebrook
at a high rate of speed when it crossed into
the lane of oncoming traffic and veered to
avoid a collision, subsequently flipping over
several times. The investigation continues.
A brand new 2008 Harley Davidson
was taken from a residence
near West Montrose.
There are no suspects but the
investigation continues.
7:08 PM | A two-vehicle collision
occurred at Benjamin
and Kressler roads, near
Waterloo. It appears that icy
road conditions were a factor

that some electronic
items were taken from a trailer
on that property. Investigators
estimated that some
$1,000 worth of damage was
caused.
12:24 PM | A van crashed and
flipped onto its side at the
St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market.
The vehicle also struck the
building. Minor injuries were
reported. The investigation
continues.
5:57 PM | A bike was reported
stolen in Elmira. The blue,
18-speed mountain bike was
taken from the rear of an
apartment complex.

1:52 PM | Police received a
report of a stolen pickup
truck taken from the area of
Katherine Street South and
Hunsberger Road, east of
Conestogo. The vehicle was
found abandoned the following
day; it was returned to
its owner. The investigation
continues.

the complainant realized it
was missing and returned to
recover the phone, it was already
gone.
1:45 PM | Police received a report
of a theft from a store in
the outlet mall in St. Jacobs,
where it appears that some
$5,000 worth of product was
stolen in the previous three
weeks. The investigation continues.
4:18 PM | A license plate was
reported missing. It bears the
marker: BDEX 109. It appears
the plate had not been fastened
properly.

5:51 AM | Two vehicles were
involved in a collision at
Hawkesville Road and Ament
Line, near St. Jacobs. Both vehicles
had been travelling in
the same direction when one
pulled out to pass the other,
lost control and sideswiped
the other car. There were no
charges. Police would like to
remind drivers to exercise
caution while driving on slippery
roads this winter season.
