University of Economics & Business (AUEB) on September 25-27, 2003, in Athens,<br />

Greece. This biennial Conference is following the success of the HERMIS and<br />

HERCMA Conference series, which has been held respectively in 1992-94-96- 98-2001<br />

in Athens. The HERCMA 2003 Conference is jointly organised by the Department of<br />

Informatics of AUEB and the Research Group for Advanced Computational<br />

Mathematics & Parallel Processing. The main theme within the Conference will be<br />

Computer Mathematics and its Applications and special emphasis will be given to<br />

Computational Mathematics, High Performance Computing, Operational Research and<br />

Statistics, Mathematics in Economics and Industry.<br />

Call for Papers: Papers on all aspects of Computer Mathematics and Scientific<br />

Computing are solicited. Plenary lectures by distinguished Scientists, who have played<br />

a significant role in the advancement of Computer Mathematics and its Applications<br />

will be scheduled in the scientific program of HERCMA 2003. Non plenary lectures<br />

will be held in several parallel sessions, spanning a broad range of Computer<br />

Mathematics topics. The Authors should list areas to which their papers belong.<br />

Mini-Symposia (Session) Organisers: Persons interested in organising a minisymposium<br />

(technical session) in the framework of the HERCMA 2003 should submit<br />

a proposal using the suitable form (which can be found in the HERCMA web pages). If<br />

the proposed session is accepted for presentation at the conference, the Session<br />

Organiser will become member of the Organising Committee, and he will be authorised<br />

to make the final selection of papers for his session. Conference Chairman: Professor<br />

Elias A. Lipitakis, Department of Informatics, AUEB, Director of the Research Group<br />

for Advanced Computational Mathematics and Parallel Processing (RG-ACMPP).<br />

Submission of Papers<br />

Extended (two pages) abstracts on topics to the themes of the Conference are invited by<br />

20th February, 2003. The Authors can submit their abstracts via the Conference E-mail<br />

and Web Site addresses. Notification of acceptance will be given by 10th April, 2003<br />

and recommendations concerning the format of the accepted papers to be published in<br />

the Conference Proceedings will be sent to the Authors. The completed (camera-ready)<br />

paper will be required by 30th May, 2003.<br />

Deadline for the submission of the extended abstract 20 February, 2003<br />

Deadline for mini-symposia proposals 20 February, 2003<br />

Notification of acceptance 10 April, 2003<br />

Deadline for the submission of the complete paper 30 May, 2003<br />

Deadline for the early payment 30 May, 2003<br />

Papers submitted after these dates, if they will be accepted, may be presented in the<br />

Conference, but they will not be published in the Conference Proceedings. The<br />

submitted extended abstracts (not over 3-typed A4-pages with 1.5 spacing, including<br />

figures and diagrams) may include the general significance of the original research<br />

work as well as the detailed aspects of the study that is going to be presented, and<br />

should be sent to the HERCMA 2003 scientific committee in the following HERCMA<br />

Secretariat address.
