2 nd M.I.T. Conference on Computational Fluid and Solid Mechanics

You are certainly aware of the fact that our colleagues from deterministic
computational mechanics and analysis show continued interest in uncertainty analysis
and probabilistic methods in context with the analysis of engineering structures. This
trend is as you may agree most encouraging and should be definitely followed up by
our community.
In this regard the chairman of the second M.I.T. Conference on Computational Fluid
and Solid Mechanics, Professor Klaus Jürgen Bathe, again as in the previous M.I.T.
Conference in 2001 has encouraged colleagues working in Computational Stochastic
Mechanics and Structural Analysis to contribute Technical Sessions on these subject
areas.
The focus of the Conference will be on computational fluid dynamics, computational
solid and structural mechanics, and in particular on the interdisciplinary areas of multiphysics
phenomena. Formulations, solution procedures, mathematical analyses and
applications are of interest. Some Conference topics are listed below.
