Lou Frost, Becky Ramirez<br />

and Brent Miners recently<br />

opened <strong>the</strong>ir own business–“The<br />

Barber’s In.”<br />

Located at 129 West<br />

Third Street in downtown<br />

<strong>Perrysburg</strong>, The Barber’s In<br />

is a full service barber shop<br />

featuring all modern and<br />

standard haircuts, face<br />

shaves, beard and mustache<br />

trims, and eyebrow threading<br />

and eyelash extensions.<br />

The three barbers, who<br />

worked toge<strong>the</strong>r at ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

shop, decided to pursue <strong>the</strong><br />

“American dream” and<br />

open <strong>the</strong>ir own business.<br />

Ms. Ramirez received<br />

her barber license from <strong>the</strong><br />

Toledo Barber Academy<br />

and has served clients for<br />

more than 25 years–<strong>the</strong> last<br />

15 years in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Perrysburg</strong><br />

area. Mr. Miners, a Point<br />

Place resident, received his<br />

certification and license<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Ohio State Barber<br />

Academy in 2002 and has<br />

10 years of experience. Ms.<br />

Frost received her license<br />

in 1973, worked for 20<br />

years and recently returned<br />

to <strong>the</strong> hair styling business.<br />

Many area residents will<br />

recall Ms. Frost as <strong>the</strong><br />

owner of <strong>the</strong> former Carriage<br />

Inn, which was located<br />

in <strong>the</strong> Country Charm<br />

Shopping Center.<br />

Each of <strong>the</strong> owners also<br />

has a managing license.<br />

Working part-time at <strong>the</strong><br />

shop is Maggie Ramirez, a<br />

licensed cosmetologist,<br />

offering eyebrow threading<br />

or arching and eyelash<br />

extensions.<br />

The Barber’s In serves<br />

all family hair needs in a<br />

friendly, comfortable environment.<br />

The shop is newly<br />

designed with warm colors,<br />

modern equipment and<br />

funky antique church<br />

benches for seating. There<br />

is a children’s area with<br />

books, stuffed animals and<br />

small chairs. “It is a fun<br />

shop, where on a nice day<br />

‘Life in Early Ohio’ event<br />

at Fort Meigs August 25-26<br />

Fort Meigs will hold a<br />

“Life in Early Ohio” event<br />

August 25 and 26. Visitors to<br />

<strong>the</strong> event can learn about <strong>the</strong><br />

trades and skills <strong>the</strong>y might<br />

have used in Ohio’s frontier<br />

Historical interpreters and<br />

skilled trades people will<br />
