The City <strong>of</strong> <strong>Perrysburg</strong> is expanding <strong>the</strong> curbside recycling collection program. Everything you recycle instead <strong>of</strong> tossing in <strong>the</strong> trash<br />

decreases <strong>the</strong> amount <strong>of</strong> money spent on landfill disposal fees. The price <strong>the</strong> city is paid for recycling <strong>of</strong>fsets any recycling handling<br />

fee; <strong>the</strong>refore, <strong>the</strong> city does not pay to recycle items collected curbside. Listed below are <strong>the</strong> items that can be recycled curbside.<br />

Note <strong>the</strong> NEW items that can be recycled curbside<br />

FIBER needs to be placed in a paper bag not loose in <strong>the</strong> bin as it will blow and become litter<br />

• Newspapers and inserts<br />

• Magazines, catalogs, junk mail, telephone books, and <strong>of</strong>fice paper<br />

• NEW — Shredded paper placed in a clear, see-through plastic bag close at <strong>the</strong> top<br />

• NEW — Paperback books<br />

• NEW — Non-metallic wrapping paper, paper gift bags and paper shopping bags<br />

• NEW — Cardboard boxes that hold food including boxes that hold liquids like juice, milk, OJ<br />

• NEW — Cardboard from toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, cereal, crackers and o<strong>the</strong>r boxes<br />

• NEW — Cardboard can be recycled curbside ONLY IF it is flattened & placed in ei<strong>the</strong>r a paper grocery bag or a pop cardboard<br />

sleeve AND is no larger than 12” by <strong>18</strong>”. Large pieces <strong>of</strong> cardboard cannot be accepted curbside. Large boxes and large<br />

pieces <strong>of</strong> cardboard can be recycled at one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> two cardboard drop-<strong>of</strong>f locations:<br />

Monday – Friday (excluding holidays)<br />

7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.<br />

AND<br />

Second Saturday <strong>of</strong> each month at <strong>the</strong> 211 East Boundary location only<br />

9:00 a.m. to 12 noon<br />

BOTTLES AND CANS<br />

• Glass <strong>of</strong> all colors that hold food or liquids including caps and lids<br />

• Steel food and beverage containers including caps and lids<br />

• Aluminum beverage containers/cans, trays and aluminum foil that is clean <strong>of</strong> food debris<br />

PLASTICS<br />

• #1, #2, and newly added #4, #5, #6, #7 containers that have a recycle logo and number, can be recycled curbside<br />

• This also includes items that are labeled HPDE, PET or PETE (no plastic bags <strong>of</strong> any kind are accepted curbside)<br />

• NEW — items with #4, #5, #6, #7 and <strong>the</strong> recycle logo on <strong>the</strong> bottom like, but not limited to:<br />

• Tubs for yogurt, cottage cheese, and margarine<br />

• Molded food trays, plastic carryout containers, deli containers, and cold drink cups<br />

• Medicine bottles and containers<br />

• Flower pots and nursery flats but not flimsy plastic plant six pack pots<br />

• NO #3 plastics accepted<br />

AT THIS TIME, WE CANNOT ACCEPT THESE ITEMS FOR CURBSIDE RECYCLING<br />

• Plastic bags <strong>of</strong> any kind<br />

• Styr<strong>of</strong>oam <strong>of</strong> any kind<br />

• Hardback books<br />

• Biodegradable plastics which are marked: PLA, made with corn or compostable<br />

• Any plastic item without a number within <strong>the</strong> recycling logo<br />

• Light bulbs, broken glass, windows, mirrors, cooking dishes, ceramics or dinnerware<br />

• Paper plates, cups, napkins, towels or tissue products<br />

• Plastic bottles that contained motor oil, antifreeze, windshield washer fluid or toxic substances<br />

• Batteries <strong>of</strong> any kind<br />
