MONDAY, APRIL 8 – 7:00 A.M.<br />

HOMEOWNER’S BRUSH MUST BE AT THE CURB<br />

PREPARE:<br />

♦ This year <strong>the</strong> “out by date” is Monday, <strong>April</strong> 8, at 7<br />

a.m.<br />

♦ All brush must be placed at <strong>the</strong> curb, not in <strong>the</strong> alley.<br />

♦ Pile brush with cut ends toward <strong>the</strong> street.<br />

♦ Do not tie into bundles—stack loosely.<br />

♦ Place small clippings and twigs in personal garbage<br />

cans so <strong>the</strong>y can be easily dumped (not in Toters).<br />

♦ City crews will take branches, bushes, logs, stumps,<br />

firewood and Christmas trees.<br />

♦ Crews will begin on <strong>the</strong> west side <strong>of</strong> town this year<br />

and work <strong>the</strong>ir way east.<br />

♦ Once crews have been down your street, <strong>the</strong>y will not<br />

return. A supervisor will check daily to make sure all<br />

brush piles were picked up.<br />

AVOID:<br />

♦ Brush pick-up is not a yard waste or large item pick<br />

up. Please do not place anything but brush to <strong>the</strong> curb.<br />

by calling <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Public Service at 419-<br />

872-8020, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.<br />

or check <strong>the</strong> city Web site at www.ci.perrysburg.oh.us.<br />

♦ If o<strong>the</strong>r items such as ornamental grasses, weeds, sod<br />

or leaves are mixed with <strong>the</strong> brush pile, everything will<br />

be left and <strong>the</strong> homeowner will be responsible for<br />

removal <strong>of</strong> all items.<br />

♦ Metal, stones and o<strong>the</strong>r debris may damage equipment<br />

or injure workers.<br />

WOOD CHIPS:<br />

♦ Wood chips will no longer be available for delivery.<br />

month (year round) from 8 a.m. to noon, you proceed<br />

directly to <strong>the</strong> site and a city employee will be at <strong>the</strong><br />

gate to check your load. You must be registered to use<br />

<strong>the</strong> site on Saturdays. Stop by <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Public<br />

Service, 11980 Roachton Road, to register or for fur<strong>the</strong>r<br />

♦ The City Compost Site now accepts ornamental grasses,<br />

cornstalks, straw bales and loose straw as well as<br />

branches, bushes, firewood, logs, stumps and leaves.<br />

Please keep <strong>the</strong> leaves separated from <strong>the</strong> brush as <strong>the</strong>re<br />

is a brush area and a leaf area.<br />

♦ We do not take grass clippings, plants or building<br />

Cub Scouts learn about recycling at <strong>Perrysburg</strong> Township program<br />

Cub Scouts from Den 12, Pack 209, recently had <strong>the</strong> opportunity<br />

to assist with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Perrysburg</strong> Township monthly<br />

recycling effort organized by Bob Warnimont. Mr. Warnimont<br />

taught <strong>the</strong> scouts about recycling. Pictured, front<br />

Toledo Artists Club to hold 52nd annual auction <strong>April</strong> 13<br />

The Toledo Artists’ Club<br />

will hold its 52nd annual auction<br />

on Saturday, <strong>April</strong> 13, at<br />

<strong>the</strong> Maumee Elks Lodge, 139<br />

West Wayne Street, Maumee.<br />

There will be a preview at 6<br />

p.m. followed by <strong>the</strong> auction<br />

at 7 p.m.<br />

A $2 donation is re-<br />

quested for entrance. Those<br />

who mention this notice will<br />

receive $1 <strong>of</strong>f admission.<br />

This juried auction will<br />

feature <strong>the</strong> artwork <strong>of</strong> Toledo<br />

Artists’ Club members from<br />

northwest Ohio and sou<strong>the</strong>ast<br />

Michigan. Featured artists include:<br />

Brand, Jim Brower, John<br />

The annual auction is <strong>the</strong><br />

group’s largest fund-raiser <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> year. Funds raised support<br />

<strong>the</strong> club’s operating expenses<br />

and provide a college<br />

scholarship to be awarded to<br />

an art student.<br />

Ms. Bryan created <strong>the</strong><br />

artwork as she dealt with<br />

breast cancer diagnosis and<br />

treatment in 1989. She died<br />

is remembered through her<br />

artwork, which will be on<br />

display through <strong>April</strong> 29.<br />

<strong>April</strong> 26, at <strong>the</strong> Stone Ridge<br />

Golf Club in Bowling Green.<br />

AFSP is a national, notfor-pr<strong>of</strong>it<br />

organization exclusively<br />

dedicated to<br />

understanding and preventing<br />

suicide.<br />

event will be used directly in<br />

northwest Ohio to provide research,<br />
