‘Understanding the Healthcare Debate’
forum at Bethel Assembly of God Sept. 25
Area residents are invited
to attend a free “Understanding
the Healthcare Debate”
forum with nationally recognized
author and writer Dr.
C.L. Gray.
The program will be
held Tuesday, September
25, from 7 to 9 p.m., at
Bethel Assembly of God,
665 West Indiana Avenue,
Perrysburg.
As a full-time practicing
physician who founded
Physicians for Reform, Dr.
Gray gives citizens a different
perspective from the
high-politicized debate.
Researching more than
2,500 years of healthcare
philosophies, Dr. Gray reveals
how physicians have
served one of two possible
roles in culture: either serving
the wellbeing of the individual
patient or
functioning as a servant to
the state.
Dr. Gray ties this history
into the current healthcare
law and economic situation,
and defines what this means
for patients.
“Citizens find the per-
sonal aspects of healthcare
reform the most important.
They continue to ask, ‘What
does this mean for me?’ My
research, insight and experience
hopefully will provide
those answers,” said Dr.
Gray.
Giving his first lecture on
healthcare reform more than
a decade ago in 1999, Dr.
Gray has written extensively
on this issue, including a
book, “The Battle for America’s
Soul: Healthcare, the
Culture War, and the Future
of Freedom,” and a policy
paper, “Cutting the Gordian
Knot: A Patient-Centered,
Fiscally Responsible Plan
for Healthcare Reform.”
Sponsored by Physicians
for Reform and several other
organizations, the educational
forum is free and open
to the public.
Following Dr. Gray’s
presentation will be a
question-and-answer session.
Dr. Gray is founder of the
