Janna and Neil Rupp
celebrate 40th wedding anniversary
Neil Rupp and Janna Nafziger were married in 1972, at
Central Mennonite Church in Archibold, Ohio. They will
celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on September 23,
2012.
They were high school sweethearts at Pettisville High
School, and have lived in Perrysburg for more than 35
years.
Mr. Rupp works at The Andersons as a controller in the
railcar division. Mrs. Rupp works at Toth Elementary
School in food services.
They enjoy spending time at the family lake house, bike
riding, fantasy football and visiting with their granddaughters
as often as possible.
Their daughter Mindy Hutchins lives in Harrisburg,
North Carolina, with her husband Jason and their two
daughters, Brenna, 7 and Aubrey, 5. Their daughter Emily
Wiebracht lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband
Nate and their daughter Sophia, 1.
Graham’s Foundation golf outing
raises more than $10,000
The fourth annual Golfing
for Graham’s Foundation
fund-raiser tournament was
held recently at Stone Ridge
Golf Club in Bowling Green.
Many golfers participated in
the event held to support the
local nonprofit organization’s
mission to give practical and
emotional support to parents
coping with the difficulties
associated with premature
birth.
More than $10,000 was
raised from the event which
include special promotions on
the eighth and ninth holes,
where LPGA aspirant, 45th
California Women's Amateur
Championship runner up, and
former micro-preemie Petra
Cole helped golfers ready
putts and hit extra tee shots.
“The atmosphere this year
was full of excitement, and I
was so glad to be a part of the
tournament for a second year
in a row,” said Ms. Cole, who
is a regular supporter of Graham's
Foundation. “It really
felt like each and every person
on the green was proud to
be out there contributing to
such a fabulous cause. Great
people and a great course
made the day amazing.”
The event was about more
than just hitting the
green–even if hitting the
green meant the chance to
win prizes on various holes,
including a Mercedes 2012
c300 4matic (sponsored by
Vin Devers Autohaus of Sylvania)
for an ace on the 5.
The money raised, on and off
the course with the help of the
Stone Ridge staff and Graham’s
Foundation volunteers
and sponsors, is coming at a
critical time in the nonprofit’s
growth.
Though Graham’s Foundation
calls Ohio home, it operates
nationally and now has
a broader reach than ever before
according to Nick Hall,
who founded the non-profit
with his wife Jennifer after
they experienced the birth of
twins at just 25 weeks before
facing the trials of the NICU
and the loss of one child.
“Events like this give us
the resources we need to continue
evolving and expanding,”
he said. “At Graham’s
Foundation’s inception, we
were focused primarily on
getting a few hundred care
packages into the hands of
parents of premature infants.
Now, thanks to generous support
from donors and corporate
sponsors, we’re able to
provide tens of thousands of
care packages to moms and
dads of preemies, while also
creating new initiatives like
Parents of Preemies Day and
becoming a central resource
for parents who need help.”
Road Closure
Five Point Road, on the west side of SR 25,
will be closed at SR 25 for utility work. Tentative
schedule has work beginning September
20. Weather permitting it is anticipated the
work will be complete by October 4. Thank
you in advance for your patience during this
construction.
