Parade <strong>of</strong> Homes scheduled for September 21-30<br />

Site Parade <strong>of</strong> Homes:<br />

September 21 to 30. Homes<br />

will be open on Fridays, Saturdays<br />

The event features 19<br />

throughout northwest<br />

Ohio and southeast Michigan.<br />

Local author Michael Mc-<br />

Master will present his book,<br />

“Henry County in the Great<br />

War: German-Americans, Patriots,<br />

and Loyalty.” This<br />

book details the loyalty trials<br />

imposed on the German-<br />

Americans during World War<br />

One in Henry County, Ohio.<br />

The program is free and<br />

open to the public.<br />

Northwest Ohio Life Fair to be Sept. 23 at St. Rose<br />

Area residents are invited<br />

to attend the fourth annual<br />

Northwest Ohio Life Fair on<br />

Sunday, September 23, to<br />

learn more about the local prolife<br />

movement.<br />

The event will be held<br />

from 1-4 p.m., at the St. Rose<br />

School gymnasium, 217 East<br />

Front Street.<br />

The public is invited to the<br />

free event.<br />

Keynote speaker will be<br />

Shawn Carney, national campaign<br />

director for 40 Days for<br />

Life, a prayer campaign to end<br />

abortion that has taken place in<br />

440 cities around the world,<br />

including more than 525,000<br />

people and 15,000 church congregations.<br />

The next 40 Days for Life<br />

will take place in the Toledo<br />

area from September 26<br />

through November 4.<br />

Also appearing at the Life<br />

Fair will be John Morales, executive<br />

producer <strong>of</strong> “The 40<br />

Film,” a documentary on the<br />

heated issue <strong>of</strong> abortion in the<br />

United States.<br />

Community Shield program<br />

The Ohio State Highway<br />

Patrol has developed Community<br />

Shield, a training program<br />

designed specifically for the<br />

general public to help us Contribute<br />

to a Safer Ohio.<br />

Similar in concept to the<br />

successful Truck Shield program,<br />

Community Shield provides<br />

interested members <strong>of</strong><br />

the general public with specific<br />

training on how to identify<br />

possible criminal behavior on<br />

Ohio’s roadways, and tools for<br />

contacting the Patrol at #677 in<br />

order to help us deploy troopers<br />

and resources to the problem<br />

area.<br />

Community Shield training,<br />

which will be delivered by<br />

Patrol <strong>of</strong>ficers in a onehour<br />

training block during scheduled<br />

presentations, consists <strong>of</strong><br />

instruction in impaired driver<br />

detection, criminal patrol,<br />

homeland security and human<br />

trafficking. Training is geared<br />

towards community members<br />

to assist local law enforcement<br />

and Troopers while they are on<br />

the road as extra sets <strong>of</strong> eyes<br />

and ears.<br />

A class will be <strong>of</strong>fered on<br />

Saturdays, at 9 a.m., beginning<br />

October 14, at the Bowling<br />

Green Post.<br />

should be sent to if different from voting residence, date <strong>of</strong> birth, identification information (last 4 digits <strong>of</strong> Social Security<br />

Number or Ohio Driver’s License Number or a copy <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> current utility bill, bank statement, government check or a paycheck.<br />

Statement indicating you are a qualified elector and wish to have a ballot for November 6, <strong>20</strong>12 sent to you.<br />
