She was the first in her family to be born in the United States on January 10, 1927 in Springfield, Ohio. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1945. She worked for many years at Home Building and Savings in the loan department and then at Libbey-Owens- Ford as secretary to the design department. She married Louis Gilles on August 25, 1956. She was a 50+ year member of Messiah Lutheran Church and in the 1970s served as a greeter. She also made a poinsettia decoration for the church cross that was used for several years at Christmas time. She volunteered as librarian at Kleis Elementary and Point Place Junior High Schools while her children attended. In her retirement years, she and her husband traveled to all 50 states and Canada. She also loved to crochet and made hats, scarves and afghans for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Louis; son, Louis (Harriet) Gilles; daughter, Diane (Thomas) Pauwels; sister-in-law Gertrude “Trudy” Bauroth, nephew, William (Sue) Bauroth; nieces Cindy (Jack) Dubrien and Bev Kelly; great-niece Michelle Cash; grandchildren Lydia Jones, Bryan (April) Gilles, Dorothy (Greg) Bosworth, Michelle Gilles, Allison and Zachary Pauwels, as well as eight great-grandchildren. years, retiring in 1980. He<br />

Cora (Chapman) Kise in<br />

Louisa, Kentucky, on February<br />

24, 1935.<br />

Mr. Kise is survived by<br />

his partner of 47 years,<br />

died on Monday, December<br />

24, 2012, in Hospice of<br />

Northwest Ohio at the age of<br />

79. She had worked as a secretary<br />

for the Lucas County<br />

Board of Elections retiring in<br />

1994. She was a member of<br />

St. John the Baptist Catholic<br />

Church, worked as a Girl<br />

Scout leader and room<br />

mother, both at St. John’s<br />

while her children attended,<br />

and she enjoyed counted<br />

cross stitch. Her greatest joy<br />

was spending time with her<br />

family and friends.<br />

Mrs. Cousino is survived<br />

by her husband of 58 years,<br />

Charles “Chuck” Cousino;<br />

Schmacher in Chicago, Illinois,<br />

books, watching cooking<br />

shows on TV and taking rides<br />

however was taking care of<br />

her family being their wife,<br />

Glass for 28 years, retiring in<br />

Louise Bauroth Gilles,<br />

85, died Saturday, December<br />

22, 2012. She was the first in<br />

her family <strong>to</strong> be born in the<br />

United States on January 10,<br />

1927 in Springfield, Ohio.<br />

She graduated from Woodward<br />

High School in 1945.<br />

She worked for many years<br />

at Home Building and Savings<br />

in the loan department<br />

and then at Libbey-Owens-<br />

Ford as secretary <strong>to</strong> the design<br />

department. She<br />

married Louis Gilles on August<br />

25, 1956.<br />

She was a 50+ year member<br />

of Messiah Lutheran<br />

Church and in the 1970s<br />

served as a greeter. She also<br />

made a poinsettia decoration<br />

for the church cross that was<br />

used for several years at<br />

Christmas time. She volunteered<br />

as librarian at Kleis<br />

Elementary and <strong>Point</strong> Place<br />

Junior High Schools while<br />

her children attended. In her<br />

retirement years, she and her<br />

husband traveled <strong>to</strong> all 50<br />

states and Canada. She also<br />

loved <strong>to</strong> crochet and made<br />

hats, scarves and afghans for<br />

her family and friends.<br />

She is survived by her<br />

husband Louis; son, Louis<br />

(Harriet) Gilles; daughter,<br />

Diane (Thomas) Pauwels;<br />

sister-in-law Gertrude<br />

“Trudy” Bauroth, nephew,<br />

William (Sue) Bauroth;<br />

nieces Cindy (Jack) Dubrien<br />

and Bev Kelly; great-niece<br />

Senior Friendship Center.<br />

She is survived by sisters,<br />

huge success. Thank you <strong>to</strong><br />

all who came out and enjoyed<br />

the festivities. Also, a big<br />

thank you <strong>to</strong> all of the volunteers<br />

who helped plan and<br />

pull off this event months in<br />

advance. Your hard work did<br />

not go unnoticed and because<br />

of you the event went<br />

smoothly. Thank you <strong>to</strong> the<br />

performances and the fire department<br />

for also helping<br />

make Caroling in the Park a<br />

night <strong>to</strong> remember.<br />

We are now serving lunch<br />

here at the center again Monday<br />

through Thursday, at the<br />

regular time. However, we<br />

still need at least 15 people<br />

per day for lunch. Please continue<br />

<strong>to</strong> call in and let us<br />

know by noon a day ahead so<br />

we can guarantee you a meal.<br />
