Perrysburg Chiropractic is celebrating 20
years in business this year.
Dr. Wayne Koskinen founded his practice
in 1990 with an office in Perry’s Landing.
Offering a full array of chiropractic services–
including treatment to improve mobility and
range of motion and alleviate lower back and
neck pain, headache, carpal tunnel, tennis
elbow and rotator cuff pain– Perrysburg Chiropractic
has grown steadily over the years
thanks to courteous staff and satisfied patients.
Five years ago, the practice moved to its
current location, and a year later, a satellite
office, Fallen Timbers Chiropractic, opened
in Whitehouse. Patients at Fallen Timbers are
treated by Dr. Bob Spain, a Perrysburg resident.
Along the way, Dr. Koskinen has provided
the same family-oriented chiropractic
care while keeping up with the latest technologies
and the most current methods. A

it has moved to a larger facility to better serve its
local customers. Their new shop is located at 1650
Waters Edge Drive, which is located off of Williams
Road right here in Perrysburg.
Now in its seventh year of business, Knot &
Rope Supply has made a name for itself both here
at home and all over the United States with its onsite

services. The company sells ropes made

Dr. Koskinen and his staff care for patients

Originally from Flint, Michigan, Dr.
Koskinen found his way to Perrysburg
through friends he met as an undergraduate
student at Northern Michigan University.
They were from Maumee, and he often visited
northwest Ohio with them.
“In the late 1970s, I used to go to Dale’s
Bar at night to shoot pool, drink beer and eat
peanuts,” he recalled with a laugh. Now I go
there at lunch in work clothes to have cheeseburgers
and soda.”
When he opened his practice in Perrysburg,
Dr. Koskinen didn’t hesitate to get involved

shopping mall in the nation. In addition to working
with top tier creative departments, they also cater to
individual customers looking for a rope to decorate
a deck or other home project, as well as those looking
for ropes to climb or use for exercise. Knot &
Rope Supply also is very active in the arborist and
tree climber community. Their leadership and ability
to stock, ship and splice every single type of arborist
rope has made them a true one-stop shop for
any professional or recreational tree climber in the
nation.
“Since we got started in the business it has been
exciting every day to work with such a wide variety
of people who use rope. Even the guys who stop in
the shop looking for a landscape rope or something
for craft and knot work are fun to meet and talk to,”
says John Hartenburg, owner. “We all might be rope
guys over here, but we still can help people out who
don’t know the first thing about rope find the right
thing for whatever job they have.”
The company is owned by Perrysburg resident
John Hartenburg, who is not only a professional
splicier but a top-ranked amateur tree climber who
uses ropes all the time for tree climbing competitions.

Methodist Church.
Dr. Koskinen also shares his professional
expertise with medical students through a
partnership with the University of Toledo
Medical Center, hosting fourth-year students
at his office for their complementary medicine
elective.
As he celebrates Perrysburg Chiropractic’s
first 20 years in business, Dr. Koskinen
continues to look toward the future, with
plans to expand services offered to include
rehabilitation and nutritional counseling. He
looks forward to many more years of providing
the most current chiropractic services
in a comfortable and friendly setting to the
Perrysburg community and the surrounding
area.
During the past 28 years, McGivern Jewelers has
expanded from a gold and silver wholesale business
to a full-service jewelry store and one of the world’s
largest Internet diamond sellers (however, it still provides
area residents the opportunity to sell unwanted,
used gold, silver and platinum items).
Founded in 1980 by Michael and Joseph Mc-
Givern, Perrysburg has been home to McGivern Jewelers
since its inception. The business began in a
small office and in 1985, expanded to a store-front
location in Perry’s Landing. In 1997, the store once
again expanded to the second floor of the same location.
In 2002, needing additional space, the Mc-
Giverns purchased the building at 112 West Second
Street, where the business is currently located.
Even though the company has gone global, Mc-
Givern Jewelers is very proud of the great services it
continues to offer the local community.

“Gold and platinum sales currently are at all-time
highs,” he said.

have more value than just silver content, as well as
better dates, rare coins, coins that have not been circulated
and proof coins.

complete line of diamond and gemstone jewelry in

In 1998, McGivern Jewelers was one of the first
companies to sell diamonds and jewelry on the Internet.
“We ship diamonds and rings on a regular basis to
every state and to every continent in the world except
Antarctica,” Mr. McGivern stated. “We have
sold to celebrities as well as famous politicians.”
The full-service jewelry store has one of the
largest selections of GIA certified diamonds, a large
selection of rings and all other jewelry, and provides
complete jewelry repair service and custom jewelry.
“Our business is unique in that we have such a
large selection of lose diamonds and rings and we
offer great personal service,” Mr. McGivern said.
“All our work is done on-site by our full-time goldsmith
who has more than 20 years of experience.
And our jewelry repair turnaround time is very
quick.”
A supporter of the community, the store donates
to multiple local charities. McGivern Jewelers is a
member of the Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce,
the Toledo Better Business Bureau, Jewelers
of America, Ohio Jewelers Association and the Manufacturing
Jewelers and Suppliers of America.
