Since 1987, Venzel Communications, Inc. has
served its clients as a full-service marketing, advertising
and public relations firm providing strategic
marketing planning and development of
marketing materials. Our work includes developing
logos and building brand images, creating web
sites, and developing campaigns to reach businesses
and consumers. We offer years of experience
in developing newsletters, targeted direct
marketing campaigns, brochures, flyers, posters,
newspaper ads, radio and television spots, billboards,
news releases, and event publicity.
“When we say full-service marketing we mean
it,” says Bob Venzel, owner. “We’ll develop whatever
is necessary to get the job done cost-effectively
for our clients.” Venzel Communications
works with a variety of clients including schools,
businesses, hospitals, health care providers, and
municipalities both locally and regionally. Venzel
The City of Perrysburg and Perrysburg
Township were founding members of the
Wood County Economic Development Commission
when this successful public-private
partnership was born in 1993. In the subsequent
17 years the investment has paid off
handsomely for the Perrysburg area. The
WCEDC has attracted over 2,000 new jobs
to the Perrysburg area (city and township),
and an aggregate new investment of $1 billion.
Amongst the more visible developments
velopment efforts. Several other local clients include
Penta Career Center, Perrysburg Schools,
The Elizabeth Scott Community, Downs and Hire
Dentists, and McIntire Retirement Services.
“We’re willing to explore a client’s ideas and combine
their thoughts with ours to develop an approach
that makes sense for them,” says Brian
Fowler, Creative Director. “That means understanding
the culture of their organization and the
uniqueness of their products or services so we can
best position the organization.”
“It’s a team approach,” says Mr. Venzel. “Our
clients have a unique perspective on their business
and industry. We combine that with our 23 years of
marketing and advertising expertise to form a
strong team that offers great results. When I think
back on our years of working with clients, the
thing that comes to mind are the relationships
we’ve built with them.” Venzel Communications is
Kazmaier’s Five Star Market is a familiar
name in the Perrysburg community. Established
in 1898, Kazmaier’s has been providing
quality foods to Perrysburg residents for
more than 100 years.
Family owned and operated, Kazmaier’s
has been at its present location at 127 East
Second Street, since 1963. An additional store
is located on Perrysburg-Holland Road in
Maumee. Currently, there are 45 employees
at the Perrysburg store.
Kazmaier’s holds a unique place in the
Perrysburg community. Store employees become
familiar with many local residents who
frequent the store, and often greet customers
by name. “We pride ourselves in being a
neighborhood establishment that knows many
of the customers who visit the store,” said
First Solar, Largest Solar Panel Manufacturer in the United States.
brought to the Perrysburg area by the
WCEDC over the years have been Delafoil,
Walgreen’s Distribution Center, First Solar,
the O-I corporate headquarters, and most recently,
Willard & Kelsey. While a WCEDC
member, Dillin Corp. was responsible for developing
the highly successful Levis Commons
“lifestyle center” which has become
the retail landmark of Northwest Ohio.
For eight of the organization’s 17 years,
its President has been a City of Perrysburg
(Chris Ewald, Lane Williamson) or Perrysburg
Township (Bob Mack, Phil Rudolph,
Jr.) resident. Additionally, the WCEDC has
identified grant money for road upgrades,
provided technical assistance to city and
township administrations, and through its affiliation
with Erie Basin Resource, Conservation,
and Development Council of the
USDA, brought grant money to the Way
Public Library. The WCEDC maintains a
staff of three—Executive Director Tom
owner Allen Kazmaier.
Kazmaier’s believes its greatest contribution
to the community is the focus upon service
to loyal, long-term customers in the
Perrysburg area.
In addition to personalized customer service,
Kazmaier’s also boasts an extensive meat
department. Quality meats and special cuts
are provided by experienced butchers with
many years of service to Kazmaier’s. Kazmaier’s
also offers specialty groceries, fresh
produce and baked goods.
Kazmaier’s Five Star Market remains an
established neighborhood business in the Perrysburg
community. Personalized, friendly
customer service makes Kazmaier’s a first
choice in grocery shopping for many Perrysburg
residents.
Blaha, Associate Director Wade Gottschalk,
and Office Manager Helen Smarage. The average
taxpayer pays nothing for these services.
The WCEDC is funded by Wood
County through a real estate transfer fee
(only ever paid when someone sells a piece
of property), and by its over 100 members
through annual dues payments which are accounted
for separately. The WCEDC is a
proud partner in progress with Perrysburg
(township and city).
