Encore Bridal Consignment, owned and operated
by Lee Liebetreu/Welling, is the area’s
only exclusive bridal consignment shop.
The shop, which opened in April, features
more than 100 wedding gowns, veils and accessories
for the discriminating bride. “I offer
elegant and affordable gowns and accessories
for your wedding,” said Ms. Liebetreu/Welling.
Encore Bridal Consignment, in a charming
brick home in Bowling Green, offers brides-tobe
gowns and accessories at a fraction of what
local bridal stores charge. “Why pay full price
to wear a designer gown once?” the owner
asked.
“If you have never thought of shopping
consignment, give us a try. I think you will be
pleasantly surprised at the assortment we have
at a cost savings,” she said.
The shop owner knows that in today’s economic
climate, price is important. “Let’s face
it, these are tough times for everyone, but the
smart bride knows where to make savvy decisions.
Whether you’re spending $200 or
$2,000, by shopping at Encore Bridal, you will
be assured of finding only the finest gowns
worthy of an “encore” performance,” she
added.
The shop owner believes that planning for a
wedding and shopping for a gown is a very
special time and should be treated accordingly.
“I want to do everything in my power to make
Big Daddy Graphics, in the bright pink building at
121 Burlingwood Drive, is a fun, funky and creative
business specializing in customized printed apparel
and gifts.
this a stress free, pleasurable and memorable
experience for you,” she added.
“Avoid making the common statement I
hear from brides all the time, ‘I wish I had
known about you before I bought my dress and
veil,’” said Ms. Liebetreu/Welling
Encore Bridal Consignment has gowns in
stock and ready for purchase. “Our selection
includes, tiaras, comb veils, jewelry, crinoline,
and other accessories for your wedding day,”
she said
Because Encore Bridal is a small, serviceoriented
shop, Ms. Liebetreu/Welling is able to
provide patrons with personalized attention.
“The reason I request appointments with
clients is to assure that when you’re here, you
have my undivided attention. It’s what you deserve,”
she said.
As an ordained minister for the 20 years, the
shop owner also can perform nondenominational
wedding ceremonies and offers the service
at half price for any client who purchases a
dress from the shop.
Ms. Liebetreu/Welling encourages bridesto-be
to call for an appointment. She also will
be at the Wood County Fair on August 4 to answer
questions. “Look for my booth at the
fair,” she said.
Perrysburg Alliance Church began as an extension
ministry of Toledo Westgate Chapel, of the
Christian and Missionary Alliance. On September
15, 1976, seventy-four persons became charter
members of the Perrysburg Alliance Church. In
March of 1977, Rev. John E. Bock was called to become
senior pastor. After meeting at Pine Street
School, now Frank Elementary, and then in the
church building on Mulberry Street, steps were
taken to purchase adequate property for future
building. Land was purchased at our current address
on Avenue Road and construction was completed
in May of 1979.
With continued growth and to meet the needs of
an ever-expanding congregation, a spacious multipurpose
building was built and dedicated, further
additions were built and the church began two Sunday
morning worship services.
Rev. John Bock served at Perrysburg Alliance
Church faithfully for 24 years as the Senior Pastor.
Rev. Thomas George was installed as the Senior
Pastor of Perrysburg Alliance Church in April of
2002. Rev. Paul Irminger serves as the Youth/Asso-
Big Daddy Graphics, LLC, is a full-service graphic design and
screen-printing shop offering a wide variety of customized apparel
and gifts. Located in the bright pink building at 121
Burlingwood Drive (the alley connecting Front and West Second
streets between Louisiana Avenue and Walnut Street), Big Daddy
is a fun, funky and creative business.
Owned and operated by Perrysburg residents Rex and Mindy
Russell, Big Daddy Graphics’ portfolio includes team uniforms,
school spirit wear, business wear, T-shirts, sweats, polos, hats,
bags, yard signs, plaques, trophies, coasters, mouse pads, ceramic
tile squares, customized clocks, wall murals and more.
Big Daddy also recently added more than 80,000 promotional
products including pens, keychains, balloons and noisemakers to
its offerings.
“This gives me an opportunity to give our clients such a wider
spectrum of products,” Mr. Russell said of his new promotional
products line.
Mr. Russell is a self-described “graphic design geek” who designs
and prepares artwork for Big Daddy’s clients. Mrs. Russell
oversees the sales, printing and production phases of the business.
Both are veterans of law enforcement careers, and started
Big Daddy Graphics as a home-based business ten years ago.
As the business picked up over the years, it outgrew their
home, and when Mr. Russell retired, they moved into their current
location. The store’s physical environment reflects the couple’s
love of Florida, with the outside painted like a Key West
cottage and the inside sporting Everglade green, sunrise yellow
and orange, sunset red, and Caribbean blue.
Mr. Russell said the business’ bright colors have drawn a lot
ciate Pastor. Ms. Abby Baldwin serves as our Children’s
Ministry Director and Mr. Dave Thompson
serves as Missions and Visitation Coordinator.
Almighty God has truly blessed our church and
its ministries. We are blessed with loving and caring
people who take God’s word seriously and live according
to its teachings, allowing the Holy Spirit to
transform our lives in the image of Christ. Perrysburg
Alliance Church exists to glorify God; building,
equipping, and sending believers to win people
to Christ.
The church holds services on Sundays at 8:15
a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday School is held at 9:30
a.m. PACKLand (Perrysburg Alliance Church Kids
Land) services are also held during the 10:45 a.m.
service.
Communion is served on the first Sunday of
each month and is known as Family Sunday. On
Family Sunday, there is no PACKLand for ages 4
and up during the second service. Those in this age
group are invited to join the regular service. A
staffed nursery is provided for all services for ages
birth through 2 years.
of attention, causing people to stop by just to see what it’s all
about.
“Pretty soon, people started knowing us as the pink place in
the alley,” he said, noting that business has been booming ever
since they opened.
He attributes Big Daddy’s success to their unique approach to
customer service.
“We pride ourselves in our dedication to meeting our customers’
needs in a personal, friendly fashion, and making the customer
an integral part of the process,” Mr. Russell said.
Customers are invited into the design studio, where they can
sit with the graphic designer and participate in the creative
process, viewing and choosing different colors, fonts and artwork
and making the resulting product more personal to them.
“We have fun during this process and our customers do as
well,” he said. “They’re much happier when they walk out the
door, and I am, too.”
Because he is always striving to help his customers, Mr. Russell
also has formed partnerships with other local businesses to
which he can refer projects that Big Daddy does not have the
equipment to produce.
Mr. Russell said that after more than three decades dealing
with criminals in his law enforcement career, he loves having the
opportunity to meet and work with good, friendly people through
Big Daddy Graphics, and looks forward to many more years of
providing quality graphic design and screen printing services to
Perrysburg residents.
“Our friends are our customers and our customers are our
friends,” he said.
