Located in a historic building in downtown
Perrysburg, the House of Tradition is a family-owned
business established in 1985 by
Lynn and Ann Elder.
One of northwest Ohio’s largest selections
of collectible and play dolls can be seen in the
Doll and Teddy Bear Room. Customers will
find a varied selection from Madame Alexander,
Corolle, The Doll Maker, Adora and
Engle Puppen from Germany. Also, a line of
miniature dolls, furniture and accessories
crafted by Heidi and son Karl Ott are now in
stock.
The large collection of teddy bears and
other plush animals include Steiff, one of the
first companies to produce teddy bears more
than 100 years ago. The store also carries
Folkmanis puppets, Gund, Bearington, Beanie
Babies and Webkinz.
The House of Tradition is a gold key dealer
for the very popular lighted villages from Department
56. Every series is on display in a
virtual wonderland of cobblestone streets and
gaily decorated buildings. Halloween houses
with creepy sounds and spooky accessories
are fun for adults and children to enjoy. Our
friendly staff is always willing to answer
questions and offer helpful advice.
Christmas items are on display all year.
The House of Tradition is currently the Toledo
area’s largest Christopher Radko dealer. We
also carry ornaments from Lauscha, Germany,
the birthplace of hand-blown glass ornaments.

The building that the House of Tradition
occupies was constructed in 1875 and is listed
in the National Register of Historic Places. It
was once the office of Dr. Henry Roether,
grandfather of Ann Elder.
The House of Tradition is open Tuesday
through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and
Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended
hours during the holidays.
