Change of Seasons, the only consignment
store in Perrysburg, offers its customers quality
designer clothing.
Customers can choose from all the brand
names and lines of clothing they would find at
department stores, including Talbots, Coldwater
Creek, Chico’s, Ann Taylor Loft, St.
John, Eileen Fisher, Vera Bradley and
Brighton.
The consignment store was originally
opened in 1994 by Dr. Christy Lorton. Approximately
10 years ago, Dr. Lorton sold
Change of Seasons to her part-time employee
Betty Hill.
“I never wanted to own a store but I also
knew that I couldn’t work for anyone else,”
said Mrs. Hill. “It was my husband’s idea to
purchase the store. And I love the store –it is
not work because I love it.”
Mrs. Hill became interested in the consignment/resale
business while her daughter
attended Maumee Valley Country Day
School. The school had a resale shop, the
Trading Post, which raised funds for the
school.
“That is how it all began,” said the Change
of Seasons store owner. “Parents and alumni
donated to the Trading Post, and I volunteered
to work the store. I actually volunteered there
for 15 years. I really enjoyed it.”
Change of Seasons caters to all ages and is
proud of its customer service. Mrs. Hill and
her staff offer friendly, personal service to
each and every customer.
“We build relationships with our customers,”
she added. “We love to get to know
them and assist them with their wardrobe selection.”
Customers travel from Fostoria, Findlay,
Sylvania, Oak Harbor and lower Michigan to
shop at Change of Seasons.
The store is unique in offering not only the
best quality merchandise, but also focusing
on the seasonal aspect of the clothing.
“We offer our customers the very best we
can get in the store,” said Mrs. Hill. “Every
item is checked for quality, condition and age
before it is sold in the store.”
Change of Seasons accepts brand-labeled,
current fashionable clothing and accessories.
Consignments are accepted Monday through
Friday. The shop is open weekdays from 10
a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fall consignments will be accepted beginning
August 1. First time consignment customers
need an appointment.
