Reggio Emilia, Italy this past year and found her inspiration to renovate
the Avenue Road location’s Discovery Room. She transformed the area
into a space where children can feel the beauty of nature indoors.

Grace Church is an exciting and vibrant church located
next to Woodland Park on East Boundary Street.
Two worship services are offered each Sunday, along
with a variety of small group Bible studies, mission efforts,
and recreational/fellowship activities.
The 8:30 a.m. traditional service in the Sanctuary
regularly features the Adult Choir, handbells, brass and
string instrumental ensembles, and of course, organ leading
the music. A lay reader leads the congregation in
liturgy based on the Christian liturgical seasons of Advent,
Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost.
The 10:45 a.m. contemporary service in the Family
Life Center focuses on praise and worship music led by
the praise team featuring recording artist Dan Now.
Multi-media capabilities add new dynamics to the service,
and the room is set up to include family-friendly tables
with coloring books and markers to help parents
with young children. A “Kids Own Worship” is also offered
during this service for kids in preschool through
third grade.
In addition to worship, Grace Church is involved in
outreach and missions both locally and around the
world. Grace Church is the home of Perrysburg Christians
United (PCU), a food bank and assistance center
for those in need. Grace also regularly sends mission
teams to Haiti and helps sponsor the Brad Reddick
School outside Les Cayes, Haiti. Over 300 children are
taught and fed at the school each day. Sponsorship of the
Deborah House in Romania allows that organization to
provide a safe home for girls who have been abused,
neglected, and abandoned.
Grace Church continues to provide excellent learning
and nurturing opportunities for all ages. The children’s
ministry area offers a variety of enriching experiences
for children through fifth grade. Vacation Bible School
draws several hundred children for Bible teaching, fun,
arts and crafts, and more. During the school year,
Wednesday evening activities are available for children
that reinforce the development of moral, social, and cognitive
abilities.
Youth ministry reaches students from sixth grade
through high school graduation. Sunday Nights at Grace
(S.N.A.G.) and small groups throughout the year give
students opportunities to build relationships with God
and one another. Junior high and senior high students
participate in events for growth and service. Several
mission trips take place each year, giving students a way
to engage in service beyond themselves. They also have
lots of fun with game nights, dodgeball, basketball, and
volleyball.
Adult ministries include learning and small group
settings for men and women. Weekday and evening opportunities
are available to fit into a variety of busy
schedules. Wednesday evening topics include studies
on marriage and parenting, finances and personal
growth, and Bible studies.

Perrysburg Lawn Care is a full-service landscaping

Children’s Discovery Center has a long history
in the greater Toledo area of providing high quality

Mr. Rantanen also is active in the community
through a number of organizations. He is President
of the Perrysburg Lions Club, and is an active
member of the Perrysburg Rotary Club. He was
elected to and served on Perrysburg City Council
from 2004-2008, and currently serves as Perrysburg’s
representative on the TARTA Board of
Trustees.
