PROGRESS IN PERRYSBURG–JULY 2010
“Bark for Life”
The American Cancer Society (ACS) “Bark for Life” is a ACS Relay fund-raising event that will honor the care
giving qualities of our canine “Best Friends.” It presents an opportunity for people to be empowered through their
canine companion partnerships and to contribute to cancer cures through the mission of the American Cancer Society.
Canine companions represent unconditional love, security, compassion, joy and no judgments of human abilities or
appearances. The ACS Bark for Life is an irresistible way to “take the bite out of cancer,” smile, and make new
friends–canine and human!
All proceeds will benefit the ACS Northwest Ohio Area.
$10/dog registration fee ($5 for each additional dog)

Perrysburg Advocates For Dogs (PAD) Dog Park

A group of area dog advocates have joined
forces and formed a non-profit organization–Perrysburg
Advocates For Dogs–to construct and
maintain a dog park in Perrysburg.
This park will benefit the community of Perrysburg
in several ways:
•It allows dogs to exercise and socialize
safely;
•Promotes responsible dog ownership;
•Allows a place for the elderly and handicapped
to exercise their pets safely, and
•It makes for a better community by promoting
public health and safety.
Well exercised dogs are better neighbors who
are less likely to create a nuisance, bark excessively
and destroy property.
The mission of PAD is “to establish a fenced
in, off leash dog park where well-behaved canine
citizens can exercise in a clean, safe environment
without endangering or annoying people, property
or wildlife. To develop a beautiful, wellmaintained
space open to all dog lover members
who are willing to uphold the park’s rules and restrictions.
To view this as a community project
designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and
non-dog owners alike.”
