This would mean development and production <strong>of</strong> computer s<strong>of</strong>tware and IT<br />
Enabled Services (ITES) such as Call Centres, Medical Transcriptions, BPOs,<br />
Content development, E-commerce and other similar activities.<br />
b) IT Hardware Industry:-<br />
IT hardware industry would mean production and assembling <strong>of</strong> computers,<br />
peripherals, Computer Monitors, Printers, Scanners, Modems, Hubs, Switches,<br />
Routers, Networking equipment's, UPS, Earth Station, V-SAT, Digital Switching<br />
Systems, Mobile phones, CDMA equipment, Electronic Exchanges, EPABX,<br />
Wireless equipment's, Optical Fiber Cables, battery use in mobile/CDMA<br />
instruments, ATM machines, LAN Cable (CAT-5 etc.), electronic touch screen.<br />

3 (M). Allotment <strong>of</strong> land to Bio Tech and Bio Informatics Industries in BT Parks and<br />
other selected industrial areas:<br />
<strong>Land</strong> allotment under a special land package for setting up <strong>of</strong> various Bio-Tech and<br />
Bio-Informatics industries including projects covered under Modern Bio Technology,<br />
will be made at the rate <strong>of</strong> development charges prevailing in the area. After stipulated<br />
minimum fixed investment made by the plot allottee on the allotted plot within the<br />
period stipulated for investment in the package (amended as per IDC decision taken<br />
vide item 5 on 27.12.2004), the following entitled land rebates shall be reimbursed by<br />
<strong>RIICO</strong> to the eligible allottees:<br />
1. Major Bio Technology and Bio Informatics Companies (annual turn over <strong>of</strong> more<br />
than Rs. 100 crores in this field as per the latest audited balance sheet) - For the<br />
industry which is set up on the allotted plot with a minimum fixed investment <strong>of</strong> Rs.<br />
10 crores within a period <strong>of</strong> 4 years from the date <strong>of</strong> allotment in a specially<br />
designated Bio Technology parks/ zones, entitled land rebate shall be @ 60% <strong>of</strong> the<br />
allotment rate for the plot upto maximum <strong>of</strong> 10 acres area.<br />
2. General Bio Technology and Bio Informatics Units- For the industry which is set<br />
up by any entrepreneur on the allotted plot in a specially designated Bio Technology<br />
parks/ zones with a minimum fixed investment <strong>of</strong> Rs. 15 lacs per 1000 sqm. within a<br />
period <strong>of</strong> 5 years, entitled land rebate shall be @ 40% <strong>of</strong> the allotment rate for the<br />
plot upto maximum <strong>of</strong> 5 acres area. Additional discount <strong>of</strong> 10% on allotment rate<br />
may also be allowed if the plot allottee commences commercial production within 3<br />
years from the date <strong>of</strong> allotment.<br />
3. Advanced Bio Technology and Bio Informatics Institutes - For the institute<br />
which is set up on the allotted plot in a specially designated Bio Technology and Bio<br />
Informatics zones with a minimum fixed investment <strong>of</strong> Rs. 5 crores within a period<br />
<strong>of</strong> 3 years and commences operation within 3 years from the date <strong>of</strong> possession or<br />
from the date <strong>of</strong> lease deed execution, whichever is earlier, entitled land rebate shall<br />
be @ 50% <strong>of</strong> the allotment rate for the plot upto maximum <strong>of</strong> 5 acres area.<br />
Advanced BT Institutes would mean institutes <strong>of</strong>fering M.Tech, M.Sc, B.Sc or<br />
recognized equivalent courses in this field only.
