and fiscal year. Various summary rep<strong>or</strong>ts at the Art<br />

Unit, TC, and C<strong>or</strong>ps levels are also produced.<br />

Actions prepared by examiners are submitted to<br />

their respective legal instrument examiners f<strong>or</strong> processing<br />

in acc<strong>or</strong>dance with the procedures set f<strong>or</strong>th<br />

below.<br />

PROCEDURES FOR REPORTING AN EXAM­<br />

INER'S ACTION<br />

(A) <strong>The</strong> examiner completes an Examiner's Case<br />

Action W<strong>or</strong>ksheet, F<strong>or</strong>m PfO-1472, which identifies<br />

the type of action prepared. <strong>The</strong> w<strong>or</strong>ksheet is attached<br />

to the application f<strong>or</strong> processing by the legal instrument<br />

examiner;<br />

(B) <strong>The</strong> legal instrument examiner checks the<br />

w<strong>or</strong>ksheet to verify that the examiner provided all<br />

necessary inf<strong>or</strong>mation relating to that action;<br />

(C) <strong>The</strong>legalinstrument examiner enters the type<br />

of action and the count date thereof on the Contents<br />

flap of the file wrapper; and<br />

(D) <strong>The</strong> legal instrument examiner enters the<br />

examiner's action f<strong>or</strong> the application directly into<br />

PALM using a bar code reader.<br />

Each examiner's action that is counted and rep<strong>or</strong>ted<br />

to the PALM system will be listed by application<br />

number on the Biweekly Examiner Time and Activity<br />

Rep<strong>or</strong>t. <strong>The</strong> examiner should check his/her Biweekly<br />

Examiner.Time and Activity Rep<strong>or</strong>t to verify that all<br />

applications w<strong>or</strong>ked on f<strong>or</strong> the biweekly rep<strong>or</strong>t period<br />

are properly listed.<br />

Examples of examiner's actions that are rep<strong>or</strong>ted to<br />

PALM by the legal instrument examiner, but are not<br />

listed on the Biweekly Examiner Time and Activity<br />

Rep<strong>or</strong>t, include examiner's amendments, actions in<br />

reexamination proceedings, interview summaries,<br />

transfers of applications, and supplemental Office<br />

actions and miscellaneous Office letters which do not<br />

set a period f<strong>or</strong> reply.<br />
