Annual <strong>Kentucky</strong> Genealogical Society Seminar<br />
The <strong>Kentucky</strong> Genealogical Society (KGS) brings<br />
internationally acclaimed researcher, historian, and<br />
author, Elizabeth Shown Mills, to the Bluegrass<br />
State for the 36th annual KGS seminar, “Clearing<br />
Your Genealogical Hurdles,” 6 August, 2011 at First<br />
United Methodist Church, 211 Washington St. in<br />
downtown Frankfort.<br />
Mills, best known for authoring two “essential<br />
references” in genealogy research and documentation,<br />
plans to offer four one-hour sessions:<br />
• Genealogical Problem Solving<br />
• In a Rut? Seven Ways to Jump-Start Your<br />
Research<br />
• Finding Origins and Birth Families<br />
• How to Build a Case When No Record States the<br />
Answer<br />
Doors will open at 8:15 a.m. for sign-in and<br />
vendor browsing. The seminar will begin at 8:45<br />
and end at 4:00 p.m. The registration fee for KGS<br />
members is $40. For others, the fee is $50 for<br />
registrations postmarked by July 10 and $60 after<br />
that date. Lunch is included in all registrations.<br />
Seating is limited, and registrations will be honored<br />
in the order received.<br />
