<strong>Commerzbank</strong> Corporates & Markets <strong>adds</strong> <strong>strength</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>its</strong> <strong>Leveraged</strong><br />
<strong>Finance</strong> group with five new hires<br />
<strong>Commerzbank</strong> Corporates & Markets (<strong>CBCM</strong>) <strong>to</strong>day announced the appointment of five new hires<br />
<strong>to</strong> <strong>its</strong> <strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> group adding further <strong>strength</strong> and support <strong>to</strong> the bank’s push <strong>to</strong> scale-up<br />
<strong>its</strong> franchise across Europe.<br />
The appointments are both Frankfurt and London based.<br />
In Frankfurt <strong>CBCM</strong> has hired Chris<strong>to</strong>ph Reinhard as a Transaction Team Leader. Chris<strong>to</strong>ph formerly<br />
worked for BNP Paribas where he had been a member of the Frankfurt based BNP leveraged<br />
finance team since 2001. Over the past five years he has predominantly worked on German<br />
speaking transactions in an MLA role. Prior <strong>to</strong> this he worked for Deutsche Bank.<br />
In his new role he will report <strong>to</strong> Christian Rodde, one of the group’s Senior Transaction Team<br />
Leaders, and will be responsible for origination and execution of financial sponsor backed LBOs.<br />
In addition, An<strong>to</strong>ine Collas has joined <strong>CBCM</strong>’s <strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> team based in London. An<strong>to</strong>ine<br />
previously worked for the Trust Company of the West (TCW) in Los Angeles as a High Yield and<br />
Mezzanine Analyst. He had previous experience with Credit Agricole Asset Management in Paris.<br />
Meanwhile , Markus Koechling, Jan Hoon, and Alexander Schröder have all joined the <strong>CBCM</strong><br />
<strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> Team’s Agency, Moni<strong>to</strong>ring and Support team in Frankfurt.<br />
Markus, who began last month as a Portfolio Manager, has spent the last four years working in<br />
<strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) where he was principally involved in<br />
risk management, syndication and participations.<br />

A trained lawyer, Marcus previously worked in the Warsaw Tax & Legal Advice office of Ernst &<br />
Young, and was a lecturer in European and International Economic Law at the University of<br />
Aberdeen, Scotland, for three years.<br />
Jan has joined <strong>CBCM</strong> as a <strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> Junior Analyst after graduating from the University<br />
of Mannheim in December 2005. He completed his training with <strong>Commerzbank</strong> Corporates &<br />
Markets, having gained experience in equity derivatives as well as in credit risk management for<br />
CDOs.<br />
In addition, <strong>CBCM</strong> has appointed Alexander <strong>to</strong> the team in March as a <strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> Junior<br />
Analyst. Alexander graduated from the Hochschule fuer Bankwirtschaft in Frankfurt. During his<br />
studies he worked for <strong>Commerzbank</strong> New York and within the <strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> group in<br />
Frankfurt.<br />
Chris<strong>to</strong>pher Day, Head of <strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> at <strong>CBCM</strong>, said: “I believe that our new appointments<br />
in London and Frankfurt will help us <strong>to</strong> stay at the <strong>to</strong>p of the LBO ladder and reinforce our position<br />
in this market as we build the franchise up for the medium <strong>to</strong> long term.<br />

<strong>CBCM</strong> ‘s <strong>Leveraged</strong> <strong>Finance</strong> team has already completed four transactions in 2006 as Sole<br />
Mandated Lead Arranger and Bookrunner and five further underwritings, having completed ten<br />
deals in 2005 as Mandated Lead Arranger. In 2006 these include Coperion refinancing for West<br />
Private Equity, HT Troplast recapitalisation for Advent & Carlyle, Norma Group LBO for 3I & the<br />
Lehnkering recapitalisation for Tri<strong>to</strong>n. In 2005 the MLA transactions were: - SHW Au<strong>to</strong>motive for<br />
Nordwind, Herlitz for Advent, Carcoustics refinancing for Alpinvest, Debitel refinancing for<br />
Permira, MEC for Messer Industries, MTU refinancing for KKR, Demag recap for KKR, HT Troplast<br />
for Advent / Carlyle, LWB Refrac<strong>to</strong>ries for private inves<strong>to</strong>rs and Lehnkering recap for Tri<strong>to</strong>n.<br />
