Heidi began her career at Travcoa in 1975, working<br />
directly with its founders, the late Mel Dultz and Kathy<br />
McCarty-Carey. Heidi worked in virtually every aspect<br />
of the business and traveled to every corner of the<br />
globe. She is indeed a citizen of the world. As Vice<br />
President of Sales, Heidi worked closely with travel<br />
agents and their clients, leading client presentations and<br />
events. She became known as luxury and exotic<br />
travellers’ ambassador to the world. From 1989 Heidi<br />
accompanied luxury “Private Jet” tours Around The<br />
<strong>World</strong> manager. Her knowledge of operations and<br />
understanding of the local customs ensures the success<br />

Erika was born to be in travel. Having been raised in<br />
Europe before coming to America, she had multicultural<br />
influences right from the start. After graduating from<br />
business school, she looked for a job in international<br />
tourism. Having joined Travcoa in 1963, she enjoyed<br />
planning, operations, marketing and corporate<br />
management. She hired travel directors to escort the<br />
innovative tours and often traveled along to make sure<br />
that every aspect of the program would result in client<br />
satisfaction. Representing Luxury travel for over four<br />
decades, she became one of the industry’s key women,<br />
and continues this legacy at <strong>Lakani</strong> <strong>World</strong>. Erika also<br />
attributes her desire for travel to the legendary Mel Dultz<br />
and Kathy McCarty-Carey. Having traveled to most of the<br />
7 Continents, she still yearns to see more.<br />

Janet’s love of foreign travel led her to start her career<br />
as a travel consultant in 1980. Janet joined the luxury<br />
tour operator, Travcoa, where she enjoyed working for<br />
over 22 years in all phases of tour planning, operations<br />
and management. From 1989 until 2002 she managed<br />
the company’s Private Jet Tour department, overseeing<br />
every detail of operations and personally assisting travel<br />
agents and their clients in preparing for their trip. As the<br />
Director of Product Development, she is responsible for<br />
quality control and the research and development of<br />
tours to new destinations. Janet continues her carrier at<br />
<strong>Lakani</strong> Luxury Private Jet <strong>Tours</strong>, working closely with<br />
overseas agents to create innovative itineraries that<br />
incorporate active participation in the local culture,<br />
attending unique events or witnessing colorful festivals.<br />

John has been traveling all his life. He was born and raised in<br />
East Africa and educated in Kenya, England and the United<br />
States. Upon receiving his degree in International Business and<br />
Marketing from UCLA in the 1980’s, John embarked on a career<br />
in travel and tourism at A& K. His family is actively involved<br />
with the conservation of wildlife and John focused his efforts on<br />
gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda, playing an important role in the<br />
development of gorilla tourism. He worked for two other luxury<br />
tour operators, for whom he led many private jet tours. John is<br />
thrilled to be associated with the <strong>Lakani</strong> team and shares his<br />
love of not only Africa but other worldwide destinations with<br />
travel agents when he is not leading travelers on the <strong>Lakani</strong><br />
Luxury Private Jet <strong>Tours</strong>.<br />

Susan's love of travel began at a young age enjoying<br />
stories of her grandparents’ world travels. It continued to<br />
grow after being a foreign exchange student in Chile. Her<br />
journey into the travel industry came after working in<br />
banking for Bank of America and the Federal Reserve<br />
System. Over the past 10 years she has earned a<br />
certificate in Travel and Tourism and worked as a retail<br />
travel agent prior to joining Travcoa as a Custom Journey<br />
Planner. Susan's passion is higher education with degrees<br />
in Political Science and an MBA/ACC. She does volunteer<br />
work for her local alumni club specializing in student<br />
recruitment and scholarship for The Ohio State University.<br />
Susan joins <strong>Lakani</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Tours</strong> with a passion to plan<br />
unique itineraries based on specific interests.<br />

Dawn started her career in international tourism in 1971,<br />
escorting luxury group tours to numerous countries. In<br />
1980, Dawn joined the luxury tour operator, Hemphill-<br />
Harris, where as Vice President, she was in charge of<br />
operations of their luxury tours. In 1988, Dawn joined<br />
Olson Travel-world as Vice President of Operations, where<br />
she was responsible for tour operations and quality control.<br />
In 1995, Dawn was brought to Travcoa to launch its<br />
Independent Travel Department – designing, customizing,<br />
and operating personalized travel worldwide. Dawn’s<br />
dedication to <strong>Lakani</strong> Custom <strong>Tours</strong> and expertise in<br />
worldwide operations has earned her a reputation as a<br />
premier authority in luxury travel, along with the respect of<br />
her peers in the travel industry.<br />

Mary started her travel career in the tour and<br />
convention department of the Hilton Hotels Corporation<br />
in Chicago. In 1974, she joined Travcoa, and 28 years<br />
later she remained an important player and a true asset<br />
to its founders. Mary had the challenging task of<br />
making travel arrangements for Dultz’s unrelenting<br />
journeys to establish tourism in remote parts of the<br />
world such as Easter Island, Papua New Guinea,<br />
Cambodia, Bhutan, Patagonia, Oman, Yemen, Namibia<br />
and western Africa. Mary’s experience ranges from<br />
tour operations to financial responsibilities for overseas<br />
accounts and vendor negotiations. Mary’s bring her<br />
expertise in working closely with the legendary Mel<br />
Dultz, to <strong>Lakani</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Tours</strong>.<br />
