Ontario, California (July 31, 2012) – Mountain Mama is proud to sponsor two events benefiting
the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition this summer at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market
in Salt Lake City, UT.
“OIWC is thrilled to be partnering with Mountain Mama at
Summer Outdoor Retailer,” says Hillary Harding, OIWC
Development Director. “As a women’s organization, we love
partnering to raise awareness of our cause, and when we can
partner with an organization so focused on helping and
supporting women, it feels like a perfect fit.”
The events begin with a book signing by Helen Olsson on
Saturday, August 4, from 1:30 - 2:00pm at Mountain Mama’s
booth (BR436). Olsson will sign copies of her book, The Down
and Dirty Guide to Camping with Kids. A $5 donation for each
signed copy will benefit the OIWC.
After that, Olsson and Mountain Mama will migrate to the Climbing Zone where Climbing
Magazine will host the ‘Big Belly Bouldering’ contest. From 2:00-3:00pm, participants can
test their “pregnant” climbing skills by strapping on a baby bump and Mountain mama’s new
Maternity Climbing Harness by Mad Rock. Prizes will be given and Olsson will sign more copies
of her book…again, with proceeds going to the OIWC. Climbing contestants are encouraged to
sign up prior to the event at either Mountain Mama’s booth or the Climbing Zone.
Ontario, California (August 1, 2012) – Mountain Mama and Mad Rock Climbing unveiled the
world’s first harness for pregnant climbers at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2012. Called
Mountain Mama by Mad Rock, the full-body adjustable harness was created with an eye to
comfort and safety.
The innovative molded padded leg loops are
combined with an “X”-Strap design at mid-back
that supports and cradles the torso with wide,
flexible webbing. An open design through the
midsection accommodates a growing belly
without bunching or squeezing, while side
webbing connects low and away from the
chest to allow a full-range of arm motion.
Fully adjustable shoulder straps and leg loops
ensure a precise fit, and tie-in at the sternum
keeps everything upright. Flexible equipment
loops at the sides keep gear at easy reach.
MSRP: $120
Ontario, California (May 10, 2012) – Mountain Mama is proud to introduce Olympic cyclist
Erinne Willock as their newest brand ambassador. After 15 years of competition, the accomplished
Canadian is foregoing her 2012 race season and a return to the Olympics for a much grander
opportunity – pregnancy. Her passion for leading a healthy life ties in directly with the message
Mountain Mama strives to share with mothers everywhere.
If you asked this 30-year-old Victoria, B.C. native what
she dreamt of a few months ago, the Olympics would
have been the topic of conversation. Now, it’s all
about baby. While Willock still strives to keep her body
healthy, her focus has shifted from training for a race
to preparing for birth.
“We are thrilled to have Erinne on our roster of athletic
mamas,” says Teresa Delfin, founder/owner of
Mountain Mama. “Our brand ambassadors help
inspire other expecting women to stay active and
strong. Pregnancy and childbirth are amazing physical
achievements for any woman, and approaching it like
an athlete keeps mama and baby healthy.”
Mountain Mama sets the industry standard for high-performing, active maternity wear. New
for Summer 2012 is a cycling line designed specifically for women wanting to stay in the saddle
during their pregnancies and beyond.
Ontario, California (July 24, 2012) – Mountain Mama believes connecting with the outdoors is
one of the best ways to stay healthy and optimistic. To recognize companies in the outdoor
industry who also support this lifestyle, Mountain Mama created the Outdoor Family Award.
Five categories of the award include Outdoor Parent, Nursing Mama, Outdoor Baby, Outdoor Kid
and Outdoor Pet.
“Our inaugural Outdoor Family Award was a huge hit at the last OR Show, so we’re thrilled to
once again be scouting the show for the most family-friendly gear there is,” says Teresa Delfín,
founder/owner of Mountain Mama. “As any parent knows, it’s never too early to start living an
active, outdoor lifestyle, and the gear makes getting the whole family out easier and more
enjoyable.”
Awards are determined based on needs and preference of
Mountain Mama’s employees, product testers and brand
ambassadors. Products showcased at the Outdoor Retailer
Summer Market in Salt Lake City, UT this August will be
considered. Winning picks can be new designs or classics
– whatever gets the job done. None of the products chosen
will be part of a promotional effort. After the show, Mountain
Mama will announce the selection of the coolest products
they spot in the trade hall.
Nominations are welcome! To tell Mountain Mama about
your favorite family gear, stop by the booth at ORSM (BR436)
or send an email to info@mountain-mama.com.
