Senior Editor Note
The Alaska Supreme Court
granted a joint motion to dismiss
all appeals to Clean Water 1 on
June 9. According to a press release
from Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell’s
office, the court’s action means
the initiative will not appear on the
Aug. 26 ballot, in accordance with
a lower court ruling by Judge Blankenship
in a Fairbanks case. The
Supreme Court was scheduled
to hear oral arguments on the
remaining water initiative – Ballot
Measure 4 – on June 16.
