Error: “Non-system disk or disk error”:<br />

Internet<br />

• Eject the disk from the diskette drive and then press ENTER.<br />

• The hard drive is not recognized.<br />

• Check that the IDE or SATA controllers are properly enabled in the BIOS setup<br />

utility. To access the BIOS setup utility, restart your computer and press and<br />

hold the Delete or F2 key (key may vary).<br />

• Shut down your computer, unplug your power cord and modem cable (if<br />

applicable). Open the case.<br />

• Check that the IDE or SATA cable is securely connected to the proper<br />

motherboard connector and to the hard drive.<br />

Connection cannot be made to the Internet with a modem:<br />

• Check that the phone cable is connected properly to the back <strong>of</strong> the computer<br />

and to the telephone wall outlet. Check the wall outlet to ensure that there is<br />

a dial tone.<br />

• Make sure to disable the call-waiting feature on your telephone line, if applicable.<br />

• Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to ensure that the account is set up<br />

properly.<br />

• Make sure that there are no problems with the modem.<br />

Cannot browse the Internet / Error: “Unable to locate host”:<br />

• Check that you are connected to the Internet.<br />

• Check that the web address typed into the address bar is correct and for a<br />

valid site. Try a different web address, or URL.<br />

• If the error message still appears, disconnect from the ISP and close the<br />

browser. Reconnect and open the browser.<br />

• If the error message still appears, your ISP may be experiencing technical<br />

difficulties.<br />
