Removing a Memory Module<br />

Press outward on the retention clips at each end <strong>of</strong> the module. This will release the<br />

module from the memory socket.<br />

Installing a Memory Module<br />

1. Press outward on the retention clips at each end <strong>of</strong> the empty memory socket.<br />

2. Orient the memory module so that any notches in its edge connector are in<br />

alignment with the keys in the memory socket.<br />

3. Press the memory module straight down into the memory socket, applying<br />

even pressure at each end; the retention clips will snap into the notches at<br />

each end <strong>of</strong> the memory module, securing it in the socket.<br />

4. Reconnect the power cord, monitor, keyboard and mouse.<br />

5. Turn on the computer and check that the memory is detected properly.<br />

6. Click Start (Windows® Logo) > Control Panel > System and Maintenence.<br />

7. Click ‘View amount <strong>of</strong> RAM and processor speed’ located in the<br />

‘System’ section.<br />

8. The amount <strong>of</strong> memory installed is displayed under the ‘System’ heading.
