SUCCESS STORY OF INDIRA AWAS YOJANA<br />
DISTRICT RURAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, MADURAI.<br />
Therkutheru Village is situated 6km away from Melur Block, having total<br />
population <strong>of</strong> 6136. Among 1800 families living in the village 563 families have<br />
been identified as BPL families. Most <strong>of</strong> the BPL families are living in damaged<br />
houses. Gram Panchayat has decided to allot them pacca houses turn by turn on<br />
priority basis. In 2008-09 Gram Panchayat has selected 12 beneficiaries and sent<br />
a proposal to Melur Panchayat Union.<br />
In turn the proposal was submitted to DRDA and it was sanctioned to<br />
build a Group House under IAY. The details <strong>of</strong> beneficiary is as follows :<br />
