In Chellampatti Panchayat Union most <strong>of</strong> the families lives in temporary<br />
house like, huts and thatched ro<strong>of</strong> building Under IAY 2008-09 61 numbers <strong>of</strong><br />
families were selected and group house with toilet proposed in 13 Villages.<br />
Valanthur Village is situated 6km away from Chellampatti Block, having<br />
total population <strong>of</strong> 2500. There are 1800 families have been identified as BPL<br />
families some BPL families are living in damaged houses, Gram Panchayat has<br />
decided to allot them Pucca houses turn by turn on priority basis. Hence in 2008-<br />
09, Gram Panchayat has sent a proposal to Chellampatti Panchayat Union.<br />
Under Indira Awaz Yojana 5 Houses were sanctioned by DRDA, Madurai<br />
in 2008-09 from which one case study was carried out.<br />
