biological shielding consists of 7-ft-thick reinforced<br />

ordinary concrete around all sides below<br />

grade and an 8-ft thickness above grade. 'The top<br />

a total thickness of 8 ft. The method of constriic-<br />

tion would be to first pour <strong>the</strong> 2-ft-thick reinforced<br />

floor pad. A 3-in.-thick carbon steel floor plate<br />

would be laid over this, and <strong>the</strong> 3-in.-steel vertical<br />

wall plates would be welded to it, <strong>the</strong> latter serv-<br />
