idenfical with <strong>the</strong> substance Ni F2.ZrF4 previously<br />

syn<strong>the</strong>sized by Sturm. l3<br />

Thermodynamic calculations performed prior to<br />

<strong>the</strong> experimental work indicated that if NiF, exhibited<br />

activity coefficients similar in magnitude<br />

to those previously determined for FeF,, eqvilibration<br />

at 6WoC with H,HF mixtures containing<br />

about 3% HF would allow sufficient NiF to remain<br />
