Preliminary values of he density and surface<br />

tension of NaF-ZrF (5347 mole 96) were obtained<br />

by <strong>the</strong> maximum-bubtle-pressure method previously<br />

described.' The results are summarized in<br />

Table 2.3.3. Difficulties were encountered as a<br />

result of plugging of <strong>the</strong> nickel tube above <strong>the</strong><br />

capillary tip. In every case <strong>the</strong> concentration of<br />

oxides and oxyfluorides in <strong>the</strong> plug material<br />

appeared to be quite high, and thus it is thought<br />

that <strong>the</strong>re was air contamination of <strong>the</strong> helium<br />

stream. The assembly is being examined in an<br />

attempt to locate and eliminate <strong>the</strong> source of<br />
